EA REVEALS DECEMBER DLC PACK FOR FIGHT NIGHT ROUND 4,
ANNOUNCES PRICE REDUCTION AT RETAIL

Holyfield, Liston, Hopkins and Two New Game Modes Headline Pack

November 2, 2009 – Electronic Arts Inc. (NASDAQ: ERTS) announced today that it will be releasing a new Downloadable Content (DLC) pack for Fight Night Round 4 in early December for both the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation®3. The DLC pack retails for 800 MS Points and $9.99 on Xbox LIVE™ Marketplace and the PlayStation®Network, respectively. Named the Game Critic Awards “Best Sports Game of E3 2009”, Fight Night Round 4 has been winning over reviewers since its release on June 23rd with its realistic graphics and genre defining physics-based boxing engine.

In addition to including Bernard Hopkins, Sonny Liston and Evander Holyfield as playable boxers, the DLC pack will also include two all-new game modes. The first, Old School Rules brings a new take to the traditional boxing experience, while the second, Ring Rivalries, allows you to re-create some of the greatest match ups in boxing history.

EA SPORTS™ also announced today that they have reduced the suggested retail price on both the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions of Fight Night Round 4 to $39.99 in North America.

Fight Night Round 4 is currently available for the PlayStation 3 computer entertainment system and Xbox 360® video game system from Microsoft. This game has been rated T for Teen by the ESRB, and 16+ by PEGI. For more information, log onto http://fightnight.easports.com.

Unfortunately for me, I don't play online. To me, this looks like a waste because they didn't touch Legacy mode.

I don't know if I believe that.

For one, this is only going to interest the people that dropped it because of the online issues. It doesn't appear to affect offline much at all.

The new game modes don't really look appealing. I mean, most of us here are "hardcore" boxing and FNR4 fans, and I've seen a majority of us post that we'd like to see more CURRENT fighters in the game. Instead they add an "old school" mode so that we can apparently recreate the roaring 20's. And Ring Rivalries? Unless they're going to add more boxers, they're not adding anything we can't already do in Fight Now. The only thing keeping me from recreating Marquez-Pacquiao or Corrales-Castillo right now is that neither Marquez nor Castillo are in the game.

I'd have to go back and look, but I think we discussed it about the time that the button-config DLC dropped. The numbers at the time seemed to suggest that a large majority of people that didn't buy the game because it didn't have buttons still didn't buy it after they were added. And that was a singular, specific issue. If that DLC didn't bring them back, why would this?

Yeah I can see where that would suck for those non online players.

Honestly, I think $10 is too high for this DLC.

While Im pleased with the new improvements and DLC, I still think the main problem with this game is the counter system. I like to move around the ring, and effectively jab my opponent, and set up hooks and uppercuts. I can't stand how the game lets you counter a jab. You cant win unless you counter all day. They really need to just get rid of the counter system all together.....BTW I play with the counter window slider all the way down.

This is awesome!! After seeing the great jobs they did previously with DLC, I absolutely cannot wait.

These all sound great as i'm an almost exclusive online player. I was in the top 100 in the heavyweight OWC for the first few months but grew tired of having to deal with an increasing amount of cheese.

If this patch works as planned, this game could be SIM and epic. If they could only work on the jab and the cross.

I'm not being negative, I'm just being honest. This game had great potential, but the more DLC they release, the more they move this towards being a game that is online ONLY.

I feel like they're ignoring the offline player, when the offline game needs CONSIDERABLE work.

I definately feel you on the online only thing. It really does seem like all offline stuff has been ignored.

Are you a boxing fan? The hook and right hand are counters to jabs. I don't want arcadey game elements I want boxing.

.....I'm not only a fan I did the sport.

The AI uses, almost exclusively, STRAIGHTS as a jab counter. And yes, I am a boxing fan. I haven't EVER seen a jab that was 6 inches SHORT of it's target get countered. It happens all the time in the game...

How many times have you played Legacy past the 35-fight mark?

Because halfway through my first Legacy, I would have absolutely agreed with you.

Halfway through my second, I would have probably told you that it was fun, but the training games were starting to get annoying and the fighting the same 5 guys over and over after I won the belt was getting boring.

Now, after completing Legacy mode 4 times, and reaching GOAT status thrice, I probably just shouldn't comment. I'm glad you're enjoying it. I was enjoying it at that point as well. But it needs SERIOUS work.

Man I got so excited about this news last night I popped in FNR4 and played my legacy for about 3 hours. I'm still fresh into it so it's fun at this point.

I love how we can finally edit the licensed boxers.
That's huge for me.

I'm also interested in finding out what these 'old school' rules are about.
I wonder if we won't have to go to a neutral corner after a knockdown?
Then I can pull a Dempsey and continue to hammer on my downed opponent the minute he stands up.

Chea!!! Excited about this.

I wish we could remove attribute limits on the weight classes.
