- UPDATE 1.13.10 -

YouTube | GameTrailers

Sound familiar? This is not a re-creation of an actual moment, but rather a remake of my very first video from 2K8. I updated it a little bit, but the concept is the same. Kobe sure defends the shot a lot better this time haha.

- UPDATE 1.3.10 -

"23 vs 39" Gatorade Commercial Re-creation. A couple things had to be changed from the original commercial, like old MJ's uniform, the court, and a couple wide angle shots that aren't possible to get in the practice arena's replay mode. The real commercial thankfully had no music, so I put the "Where Will Amazing Happen This Year" song into it, which I think compliments it beautifully.

- UPDATE 12.29.09 -

YouTube | GameTrailers

Michael Jordan jams over Alonzo Mourning. The exclamation on a 52 point game, that saw the Bulls defeat the Hornets 123-108 - March 12th, 1993.

- UPDATE 12.16.09 -

YouTube | GameTrailers

Down by 2 with 10.9 seconds left in Game 3 of the 1991 NBA Finals, Michael Jordan drains the clutch jumpshot to tie the game and send it into overtime; Where the Bulls outscored the Lakers 12 to 4 and took a 2-1 series lead.

- UPDATE 11.24.09 -

YouTube | GameTrailers

Jordan sets a Finals record with 6 three-pointers in a half, during game 1 of the 1992 NBA Finals against Portland. Finishing with 39 points in a 122-89 blowout of the Blazers.

I decided to show all 6 threes this time, to help payoff the shrug a bit more. Then chose a block of time before the shrug to do in real time, including the fast break putback dunk. Which by the way, in Pippen's defense wasn't wide open haha, but there were more important factors to work in than getting that defended.

- UPDATE 11.13.09 -

YouTube | GameTrailers

Jordan's Last Shot as a member of the Chicago Bulls, during game 6 of the 1998 NBA Finals, in the style of the NBA's "Where Will Amazing Happen This Year?" Commercials.

- UPDATE 11.09.09 -

Game 3 in the 1st Round of the 1991 NBA Playoffs brought about one of Jordan's signature moments. With under a minute to go in the first half, Jordan escaped the smothering D of Starks & Oakley, then dunked right over Patrick Ewing for the basket and the foul. The Bulls went on to win the game and knock off the Knicks, on the way to their first Championship.

Marv's "Jordan trying to shake off Starks, Oh what a move by Jordan!" is a classic ingrained in the minds of all Jordan fans, but I also love the excitement from Johnny Red Kerr, so I had to use both versions....

In his fourth game back from retirement in 1995, and the Bulls down by 1 with 5.9 seconds to go, MJ took the ball fullcourt and hit the jumper over Steve Smith at the buzzer to defeat the Hawks 99-98.

Too bad they took the Bulls retro jerseys out this year, I hate how the current ones shine like tin foil.

The restriction of retired numbers in 2K10 has put a halt to my re-creation videos, but my annual "Where Amazing Happens" one can still go on through the magic of Photoshop. Notably on the shorter shorts, doesn't that look good in video game form 2K? There's a lot more motion in this one than the previous 2, and it's very smooth as well.

I was thinking of naming it "NBA 2K10: Where none of this happens" but that's not very catchy ha.

Download my "97-98 Chicago Bulls (most accurate one)" roster for PS3. I used Matt's Jordan formula, went to nba.com archives for correct vitals, and watched the '98 season highlight dvd to get correct appearances (for example, the Bulls wore white socks and shoes during the regular season and in my roster--everybody else has them wearing black socks and shoes, but they didn't wear that until the playoffs).

For more info, there is a thread about it in the NBA 2K roster section. There are a lot of downloads so it's pretty popular. My PSN name is theg81.

Wow Matt that was a work of art, that even MJ would be proud of... that is if he doesn't cuss you out for creating him and using him in the game without his permission

Thanks guys!

Got another new one, might take a break from videos for a bit after this one.

Classic Michael Jordan Commercial made using NBA 2K10. The original commercial is just Jordan arriving at the arena, but to bring it into 2K10 I decided to recreate a couple heartbreaking moments for all MJ fans. The Steal in Orlando, Game 1 of the 1995 Eastern Conference Semifinals - and Game 4 of the 1998 Eastern Conference Finals against the Pacers, where Michael's potential game winner rolled out. We finish off, of course, with his Last Shot as a member of the Chicago Bulls in the 1998 NBA Finals.

Nice Create-A-Team jerseys, That could be something for 2K11.

After the massive undertaking of the New York video, I think i'm entitled to a "clip show" video, haha. Possibly my final one until 2K11, but you never know, I thought that about my "Failure" vid, and here we are...

Michael Jordan career retrospective using clips from my 2K8, 2K9, and 2K10 videos. Going in reverse from the 1998 NBA Finals to his rookie game in New York. I used the latest iterations for moments I've recreated a couple times, so if you see a 2K8 video that means I haven't remade it, same for 2K9 moments I haven't done in 2K10. Mixed in a couple "Where Amazing Happens" shots, but added live backgrounds so they fit in better.

That was awesome Matt... seriously.

# 93 youvalss @ 04/17/10 01:03 PM
Matt, that was fantastic!!! 2K should have an intro video for 2K11, and hire you to create it.

# 94 Pared @ 04/17/10 04:01 PM
Wow... that's a lot of 'shopping to get that result.

I don't think I'd want to be sold on a game that doesn't even look like that.

Nice compilation though. I'm sure Jordan homers will go gaga.

Unlike 2K10's CG commercial with Kobe doing flips over the soda guy?

Besides, it's not that much photoshop work. Just the Mourning dunk tongue and the Where Amazing Happens shots, which is mainly changing the uniforms and unique situations.

# 96 youvalss @ 04/17/10 08:59 PM
Matt, any chance you'll re-create MJ's block as a Wizard?

# 97 Joka2122 @ 04/17/10 09:01 PM
man you are really good at this. I just want to stress to you that we at OS love your work and for you to never give up on doing these clips. It really makes the NBA something memorable. Keep up the great work MessJM
