this is completely uncalled for in my opinion Logic Doctor. This leads to our boards going the way of 2k. Positive and negative feedback should be allowed without attacks. once one person does it then others pile on . We should expect more from ourselves here.

Thanks for posting the vid steve. Much appreciated !

Yea, Czar. I was wondering if you've played the retail or beta version of 2K10 and what your take is. A penny for your thought? And don't think about those nickels and dimes, my dude. No homo. Lol...

unfortunately I have not. 2k is all about the small things so I don't think I or others who have played a ton of 2k will really be able to tell much about the game until we get our hands on it.

From what I see it looks to play much better to me than 2k9. Will that be enough ? I think to really know were going to have to take it deep into weeks 3 or 4 and let the newness of the animations wear off and see if the core gameplay still stands tall. I expect it will and I have said all along I expect 2k10 to be the best nba 2k they have made to date.

For guys who have played it to death year in and year out though the question remains on whether familiarity will breed contempt ? For that reason alone I expect real dissension in the ranks over how good 2k10 really is.

thoughts.

david lee looks HORRID.
wow, just wow.

why no MSG logo?
isnt actual MSG IN the game in the draft part?
this is odd seeing as the other stadiums shown in vids have the right names.

hope 2k can answer this one.

no fouls?

hmmm
scared there.

are there foul tendency sliders in 2k?

the positives have been spoken upon enough, i agree with those.

ready to play 2k!

Logic Doctor will be taking a break from the forums.

Carry on.

BTW, I've expressed my displeasure with that two handed overhead pass. Just looks awkward to still be in the game.

Thank you, yeah I think we are going to see that until they scrap this engine... (That ugly two handed overhead pass has been around since 1999 nba 2k dreamcast)

The game is looking good, besides that two handed overhead pass...just hoping I can find some people who play sim and don't cheese all the time.

I think we are beating a dead horse on that subject (Overhead passing, me included). Based on my view so far of the games positives outweight the negative. 90% of random online matches will include cheesing.

To me it looks so much like 2k9, some new animations but nothing more..
Obviously i haven't played it yet so i'll wait for the demo.

Awful overhead pass, that kills me

Overall a good VC game visually talking, but the other game has impressed me the most this year.

Just a final thought, just for fun

Flip Saunders or Fred Flinstones?

I'm sure they can fix it. The problem to me seems like it is the "basic" pass in most scenarios. So when one of the new passing animations doesn't trigger, it plays that overhanded pass. Which just blows.

And I know it's not as simple as just replacing it. Something like that, being such a foundational element, can really screw up the game.

If they are to fix it, looks like it would take a huge amount of time. I think it's a necessity for next year though.

Yea, I already feel a bit, uhh, dissentful, and, uhh, contemptuous because I'm one of those guys, and it's not really that I've played the series "to death", I'm just tired of the same feel of the game. I never liked the whole shot stick, to begin with, but just kinda went with it. I'll admit, again, that I'm torn a bit on whether or not to get this but this vid made me go, "Uh-uh". I may just take my $10 off this and put it toward the money I already have on you-know-which-game-that-I-don't-have-to-say-the-name-of...

Yea, I wonder about this, too, but I have a strong feeling that is a part of the engine's foundation and it would take, possibly, "breaking" the engine to uproot this...but who knows.

likewise...who are the testers on these games???? I wounder why after 15th overhead pass in the 1st qt no one said we need to tone that animation down a bit...It should happen if they pick there dribble up and try to pass across the court.. Not when someone is standing right next to you. chest passes pls

# 98 mvb34 @ 09/27/09 09:46 PM
Look like they still catch up with you on fastbreaks..

# 99 Kujo @ 09/27/09 09:48 PM
Yeah, the overhead, and awkward one handed jump passes I've seen should have been gone by now.

I'm still confident this will be the best 2K NBA game to date.

It has nothing to do with the testers. It's not a bug, per se, and it does what it is supposed to. And again, we also don't know how difficult something is to fix.

In my time with many companies, including Sony and EA, I've picked their brain enough to know fixing something like this seems easy to you but in actuality it's incredibly difficult. That's why I said next year hopefully it is addressed.
