NBA 2K10: My Player Hands-On (IGN)

IGN has posted their hands-on preview of NBA 2K10.

I am just glad we finally have something like this is an nba game. In Madden I hate the influence thing, this looks like being a team player will influence the game a lot.

He seemed to have learned the lesson most people learned from the combine: that My Player success comes from playing real basketball (DC exploits aside).

Not much to take away from that writeup though, he didn't say much. He didn't like that there wasn't an indicator of when he would get called up to the NBA, but there is no magic number (in real life anyway). You just bust your ***, get As and let things play out.

WOW... help defense... FINALLY! Players were leaving their men, coming over to help... opens up the game immensely.

BUT... again with that damn overhead pass. Makes up for what seems like 40% of the passing motions.

Yeah, I can't believe that he would want a stupid "call up" meter or the like. That would be totally lame.

I like that video also, can't wait to be playing in these games with My Player. Also don't like seeing those overhead passes so much. Not sure if its in this game but it was in the DC, don't like how players stop after throwing a pass ahead while going up court, wish they would keep running. Game is looking pretty good to me though. Hope I actually get drafted by the Bobcats at 15, thats where my guy is projected.

The pg play by the ai is kind of suspect at times especially when it comes to decision making on the fastbreak opportunities in DC.

dude cant play for $hit...i see why he went to tha D-league..but it was nice to see the gameplay and see some of the low end guys out there looked great

i want to go to the D league...i want to build my guy up somemore...i need to develop my mid range game

Yeah, what's up with those passing motions? It's as if they don't know how to make animations for close passes. Those 9,000 new animations should have addressed that issue.
