I finally got a chance to play this, and everything looks great. There's a great game in here, but goddamn the oversteer. It feels like I'm playing PGR4 on the ice. The AI cars follow their line perfectly, while I'm even going slower than them screeching and smoking tires.

I've got to tier 3 regardless, so you can eventually adapt to this stuff.

game is ok, but seems arcade to me. Overall cool game, but I'm more into sim racers..

I'm mostly into sim racers myself, but I'm glad I picked this one up. It's got an indescribable pull on me that I'm sure will hold up until Forza 3 is released. I've found one race that really gets me going in this game. If you guys haven't tried this, give it a go... set up a "Quick Race" at Hazyview .26 mile oval, using the Ford Escort Cosworths, with 10 laps, a 16 car field, and at least medium difficulty. I'm having an absolute blast with that race! No one could have ever convinced me that such a race would be fun, but I've gotten more out of that than anything else in the game!

I'm mostly into arcade racers like Burnout, but this game is a nice mix. I have it rented this weekend and am having a lot of fun with it.

I finally completed the tier system this week and won the NFS Live World Tour. What a ride it was!

Was a great time, and a good mix to get me back into racing games again. Without a NASCAR game I have to find my fix somewhere.

I am having a blast with this game just figured out how to do the steering trick thingy.. Totally loving this game. Anyone have a favorite track they prefer over another?

I'm really enjoying the demo but will go try out the full version (with GT wheel) next weekend before deciding if it's a purchase.

Ambush Canyon is one frustrating track, especially for cars that have undergone the weight reduction kits... There are two turns in which you traverse from one road at an intersection into another... The thing is that they're both at different levels... You could defintely take these turns pretty quicky if the roads were level but in this game you'll hop off the ground like a Mario Kart jumping drift and get sent into the wall. Very challenging and frustrating to see your opponent AI take the same turns quickly while you get the shaft. Ugh.

the ******* AI is getting quite annoying, and it's like EA captured the souls of online douchebags. I'll be racing next to one of them for a clean overtake, only for them to abruptly turn into me punting me off the track into the dirt. Plus they brake to damn much. I do welcome how they make "human" mistakes like going too fast in a turn and sliding off the track or causing wrecks though.

I really want to like this game, but all the little things adding up. There's god awful loading, screwed up controls, even silly things EA should have seen all along, like the flag lady always standing inside my car.

scorched in my brain...

bk, I know exactly what you're talking about... there are some very frustrating things about the AI in this game. My style is heavy on the "precision" side and I think I get some consideration from the AI's because of it. There are just some tracks and some car types that seem to be more prone for excessive collisions.

I can't explain why I'm as tolerant of this game's flaws as I am. I avoid certain tracks and they way things look, I doubt I'll ever get into the Tier 4 racing, and possibly even lose my patience with most of the Tier 3 stuff. I just can't deny the pull that the cockpit experience Shift provides has on me.... without it, I would have quit playing it after a day or two.

well the aggressive/precision stuff is kind of flawed anyways, as it's far easier to get precision points. From what I've seen, the AI doesn't adapt to how you race, so it's just general dickishness on their part. They really only seem to get that way in higher tier 3 stuff and up too.

I'm already over halfway finished with the achievements, so I'll stick it out for those. I do like the guitar hero-ish star system and side challenges for the races, as it adds another layer to the game for some replayability. This game could have been incredible if it only had a few months more of polish, but EA likely rushed it out to get ahead of Forza 3.

the cockpit view is awesome. There's a 30 lap endurance race on a figure 8 track and there's crazy wrecks. Your windshield gets all cracked and covered with oil or something. Makes it even more crazy when you can barely see.

when i first started playing this game, i thought it was a blast...but the more i play it, the more irritating it gets, and the more i realize how little sim there is about it. The oversteer is atrocious, even when you set your oversteer to a one, if your car is fully weight reduced, the oversteer is still really pronounced. The AI is frustrating as all can be, and so on...

That being said tho, i am a "sim" guy, so the arcadeish racing games do appeal to me, but not for very long. If it werent for the awesome cockpit view i think i wouldve been very angry for buying this game. But for the casual gamer, i think this is a very good game. I just think EA should probably not label this a sim experience next time... i cannot wait for Forza 3
