NBA Live 10 News Post

EA has just posted another NBA Live 10 blog. This one talks about the upcoming demo and goes over the controls.

Quote:
"Hi LIVE fans! Well, the long wait is almost coming to an end. You’re finally going to get a small taste of the new and improved version of Live via the NBA LIVE 10 demo. Sorry, PS3 users, you’ll just have to wait a little bit longer - but don’t worry, the demo will be hitting PSN next week. So before the downloading begins, we thought it would be good to let you know what to expect, give you a controller config, and quick rundown of the new gameplay features.

The demo will be 2 quarters of play (4 minutes each) using the Orlando Magic at LA Lakers. You’ll also have access to the new hangar environment when you boot up the game. Here, you can try out some of the new dribble moves and get a feel for all the new shot controls as well. Press the A (Cross) button to cycle through the different players and try out different signature shots. It’s also helpful to just locomote around with different players to get a feel for how the different players move, as each individual in the league will have a unique feel/momentum based on their agility, weight, ball handling ability, and other factors. Keep an eye on the hint boxes in the lower right hand corner as you shoot around in the hangar as well as they’ll give you valuable tips on how to be successful in this year’s game."

Great blog only thing missing is the camera controls unless I missed them. I would hate it if they forced me to play with one cam only.

I could deal with but it would still be a minor annoyance.

ther doesnt seem to be a rebound button on the offense?

Y is the rebound button on offense also, but when your an off ball play you use it to catch alleyoops too makes sense if you think about it.

Also, press X on offense for tip-in attempts.

There are some other things missing from this doc... like some of the dribble moves. But the basic stuff is all there.

And boxing out is "hold Y then release to jump for rebound", correct?

Its good that the tips are used with X makes the process more natural, and less random because you can pull it off when ever you feel like it now.

I think I'm going to be attempting more tip ins instead of grabbing rebounds because its on the X button now.

Got a question though are the tip rebounds user controlled?

Like lets say you try and tip the ball in but the players AI kicks in and realizes you are out of range and it just attempts to tip it to himself.

It would be pretty cool if you could do that.

Where's the apology for Xbox Live Silver Members, Mike?

A press release is coming from Microsoft and Sony.

So how sensitive is the "off the glass" shot to activate?
It appears that it would be really easy to accidentally go glass while trying a leaner. That would kinda suck.

I was also wondering about the boxout.

I love the looks of the control scheme. The only thing that seems weird to me is that there's a dedicated button for alley oops.
