That's cool. So their ratings are based on the type of player they are?
Or is that just their overall rating and then their classification?
I think what's posted is the latter of what you asked. However, I'm sure certain players types will have higher ratings in certain areas that apply to their player type.

Exactly. I listed all of the ratings categories (I'm sure while you were typing this), so you can draw a conclusion for most guys. A guy may have a huge influence but crap speed and still be rated pretty high. Absolutely no clue what impact this will have, but there seem to be a lot of "intangible" stats listed.
Tim Thomas - 91 Reflex
Milan Lucic - 83 Power FWD
David Krejci - 86 Playmaker
Mark Savard - 89 Finesse
Phil Kessel - 87 Scorer
Patrice Bergeron - 83 Finesse
David Backes - 84 Power FWD
Chris Mason - 84 Reflex
David Perron - 79 Finesse
Patrik Berglund - 81 Scorer
Jay McClement - 73 Two Way
Andy McDonald -86 Playmaker

Yeah, the player type has a major impact on the rating of the player. Take a 90 OVR Scorer and make him a Utility player, he'll more than likely wind up much lower (in some instances this won't be true as Ovechkin has the player traits to make a good Utility player [high Aggressiveness and Checking]).

wow!! richards and carter rated higher than zetterberg???....
richards could equal zetterberg this year, but no way in holy hell should carter be ranked above zetterberg. Carter is a scorer plays decent defense , simple player. Zetterberg does everything, great passer, stickhandler, can score, great backchecker.
