Madden 2010 News Post

The only certainty in the NFC North in recent years has been uncertainty. The division favorite seems to change from year to year and often game to game.

Heading into the 2009 season, every team features at least a couple intriguing players as well as a question mark or two. Does the addition of Brett Favre make the Vikings Super Bowl contenders? Who will new Bears' QB Jay Cutler throw to? Will the Packers improve in Aaron Rodgers' second season as a starter? Who will quarterback the Lions? It should be fascinating to watch it all play out. In the interim, here's a preview of each team in the division (in predicted order of finish).

Gonna be a good battle for the Division this year.

In my Bears online franchise I traded Briggs and Bennett to the Pack for Jennings and Clay Matthews. Gives Cutler a strong possession receiver and Urlacher takes care of most everything from an LB perspective. Matthews isn't bad (he's no Briggs).

I agree with that. I'm thinking there's a 0% chance that the Vikings don't win the division. Unless, of course, AP gets hurt.

Any reason why all of these "predicted orders of finish" are the same as last year's finishes? I assume teams make moves in the offseason for a reason, especially with NFL parity being what it is.

I like the OVR ratings, but it would also be cool to pair up, say, Jay Cutler's arm strength rating with the ratings of his best receivers' speed and catch. I dunno, fun little story, but not much about Madden or actual NFL insight.

I live in Cheesehead Country and these guys are really hyped uped after their first 3 preseason games. Heres how I see it ending up

1. Vikings(11-5)
-Feed AD the ball and let Favre do his magic
-Very solid defense, Cedric Griffin and Tyrell Johnson need to step it up in the secondary
-added Percy Harvin, E.J. Henderson will be back

2. Bears(10-6)
-defense is starting to get a little old, but still very good
-Hester or Bennet needs to step up and become the #1
-Forte is going to have a great year with Cutler at QB

3. Packers(10-6)
-Passing game looks pretty much unstoppable, needs to establish a reliable rushing attack
-If the Defense plays like this in the regular season they might just win the north

4. Lions(2-14)
-bad offense+bad defense=bad team
-Kevin Smith, Calvin Johnson, and Julian Peterson are the only bright spots on this team

ooppss, I thought you were asking us for our preview lol my bad

Keep in mind, Bret Farve is horrible on artificial turf and his record in the metrodome is extremely pedestrian. Green Bay will win this division with a little competition from Chicago. The purple people eaters and the motor city meltdown will compete for the rear.
