NBA Live 10 Gameplay and Visuals Q&A

Recently Operation Sports got a chance to talk with NBA Live 10 developers Mike Wang and Ryan Santos -- Mike Wang is the lead gameplay designer for NBA Live 10, and Ryan Santos is the lead visual designer on Live 10. We asked them about some of the recent media that has been released to the public, and we also asked them some general gameplay questions.

Man, I don't even care about 2k right now. It just sounds and looks to good what Live is trying to do this year.

Indeed... props to Santos for making freaky white people like Birdman look human this year (for the first time in ANY b-ball game). And props to Marcus for listening to all our BS and taking suggestions to the team and implementing them... still can't believe that we're finally getting controllable closeouts/challenges instead of being stuck with always leaving our feet to contest. So happy about that and it's something directly from complaint/wishlist threads.

I don't know why Kendrick Perkins would have needed an update. He looked pretty7 accurate in Live 09, am I right?

I understand there are many devs working on the game Muzy But one dev on the team has a track history of flawless ness on his track record. I'm just giving credit where its do. Don't take it as me counting out all the other guys, cause they def work just as hard and its a team effort. But I know where all this is coming from. No disrespect to any dev reading this as well. Kudos Mike Wang aka Beluba for doing what you do and Kudos Peter Moore former Sega and Xbox President for cleaning up EA as a whole. I'm out... One! Lol

we all knew Live was alwayys capable of the visuals, shoes, etc. but 2k has ALWAYS been better at gameplay...the Live we see now looks great but until we see some gameplay videos don't get too excited

As a whole I thought Live 09 had better gameplay than 2K9 though neither was that close to real basketball. At least you could play defense in Live 09.

Well Biedrins and a host of players looked creepy in 2K9. They did get a few white dudes right, but guys like Birdman and Dirk and other kinda strange-looking guys just looked bizarre in both games.

Sound sweet... I prob won't pick up an NBA game till around xmas but this might push it up. Only thing is FIFA comes out the same moth and thats a must buy for me so I am stuck here.

they had biedrins looking bad in Live 09

his hair looked like it was taped on to his head with masking tape.

Nice interview, Chase. Very informative stuff right there. As others have said, can't wait to see the demo. There are a lot of things to be excited about here.
