NBA 2K10: Draft Combine News Post

2K Sports have posted NBA 2K10: Draft Combine, Part II.

Quote:
"Alright, it’s time for Part II of my NBA 2K10: Draft Combine Insight! Before we move on to discussing the Draft Combine games, I want to take a quick moment to clear up a little confusion that I’ve seen around the forum. When NBA 2K10: Draft Combine is released on 8/26 (XBLA) and 9/3 (PSN), the game will come with a Trial version that allows you to create a character and take him into 5-on-5 scrimmages. You won’t be participating in Drills or the Draft Combine games (this means you won’t be accruing your much needed Skill Points), but it does give you a chance to see what we’re offering if you’re on the fence. We know the game is great; we want you to play it and come to that conclusion yourself!

This Trial version is also not to be confused with the official demo, which will be coming out closer to the release date of NBA 2K10. Ok, with that out of the way, let’s get back to business and pick up right where we left off, shall we?"

So wait the DLC will just be 5 on 5 games? I was under the impression you got to do the drills to. I'll probably still pick it up it is only 5 dollars.

Still confused as to what the draft will be. WIll it be a re-do of the 2009 NBA Draft?

If you buy it you do get full access to the game. But there's also a demo version that is free where you can build your player and play some scrimmages (no skill points).

All Xbox live arcade games come with a trial portion where you get to try out the game before you buy it. If you download the trial version of the Draft Combine then you will only get to play the 5 on 5 games, if you buy the full version you get all the drills too.

This is what I'm most confused about.

OOOH ok. So we can BUY the full version and get the drills aswell as the 5 on 5 or we can download a trial version and just do the 5 on 5s. Makes sense. Cool I thought they were completely dropping the drills.

Hmm...joining top crews?

This comes out way earlier than I expected. The only thing that I'm wondering is how similar, and how far does it stray from the retail game? I'm honestly not expecting all of the gameplay mechanics and the other nuances that goes into that category (gameplay) to make it in this version of the game.

It's pretty much a given that this PSN/XBL title will take a hit in the graphics department when compared to the retail version, but I'm wondering about the gameplay...

Guys, it's its own draft. It's in addition to the already done draft.

It's pretty much an MMO for basketball.

Love the sound of it. My concerns lie with balance... the team play scoring was astounding last year but hopefully the right checks and balances lie depending on the player and position.

A lot of thought would need to be put into this. Here's hoping they did it...

That'd be awesome. I'll totally play it once every association season and load my custom draft class into my association save.

Great way to add personal touch to my association!!
