Special guests Pastapadre, GameSpot Senior Editor Brian "Mechberg" Ekberg, and Konsole Kingz CEO CJ "KingSoul" Peters will be giving their impressions about Madden 10, along with celebrity gamer Camp Lo's Sonny Cheeba stopping by to talk with us about his love for Madden and gaming in general, and GetYourTournament.com's Glen Cravens (The Game II) giving his take on the EA Sports Challenge Series hosted by MLG, and other recent developments in the Madden tournament scene. Yeah, it'll still be on for a while. Just checked back, and there is still one hour and 25 minutes remaining. They're pulling out all the stops with this podcast

I'm fairly certain if Madden was going to be released two days early, they wouldn't announce it over a small community podcast that very few people listen to.

It was great to hear Ian say that a lot of things were done by design to cater to the sim crowd more than the tourney crowd. Even more kudos Ian.

This isn't the announcement..but Ian is on there now and he said they will NOT be taking accelerated clock out of online play. They will change to 7 minute quarters but they are not removing accelerated clock. The reason behind this is that Ian was sick of seeing people have 30 seconds to make tons of adjustments. Good call. I always hated that too. You should have enough time to make an adjustment or two, but not enough time to reassign every damn player on your side of the ball.

Also not the announcement..Ian said there will be no patch on launch day. More likely around a month after release. Apparently they only get two patches for free from MS, so they are trying to stretch it out a little further to catch more stuff.

Just trying to keep those updated who are not able to listen...

Ian also just said there will not be a day1 patch, and that they will wait to put out a first patch. 3 options left

1)release early
2)iphone app
3)online franchise website released

OR, it is nothing useful at all.

Thanks for those who are providing us with the updates! I was really hoping for a day 1 patch to fix the replay issue though, but oh well.

It will be for those that have Madden 10 early, they are doing a soft launch of the online franchise tonight.

Nothing else news worthy since my last two announcements but they are starting to wind down and still no announcement. Ian has left, so whatever the announcement is he isn't making it. This definitely leads me to believe whatever it is really isn't going to be as major as they made it out to be.
