NBA 2K10 News Post

Gamespot has posted an interview with 2K's Vice President of Sports Development Jeff Thomas, to get his thoughts on the history of the series, as well as what fans can expect from the limited edition version of NBA 2K10.

Quote:
GS: "Now that the series prepares for its tenth installments, what do you think have been the most important cornerstones of the NBA 2K series? Conversely, has there been a feature that you knew wasn't right and had to be either scrapped or improved quickly?"

JT: "The cornerstone for all of the NBA 2K series games has been the feel of the control. Running 60 frames per second is critical to how it feels and how responsive the game is. We did a feature that lasted a couple of years called 24/7, it was always kind of an "out there" feature and never well received. It ended up being scrapped, but you never know what the future will bring?"

I don't think that they're going let that little bit of truth get in the way of their celebration.

I like the shout out to "Doc vs. Bird". The game that paved the way for all the hoop games that followed.

I know! It's 10 years since the release of the first, but this line kills me:

Today, 2K announced a special anniversary edition version of its upcoming NBA 2K10--which, obviously, is the tenth game in the famed basketball series. To coincide with the announcement, we spoke with 2K's Vice President of Sports Development Jeff Thomas to get his thoughts on the history of the series, as well as what fans can expect from the limited edition version of 2K10.
Obviously it's the 11th game of the series.

It sounds good but damn $99.99 is pretty steep price tag for a game

I think he is trying to make atonement for allowing NBA 2k4 to be created and has wiped it clean from his memory

As an official, 2K4 is essentially noticed as an abomination. Technically, it wasn't 2K4 but rather ESPN Basketball. So he is CORRECT!! This is the 10th 2K game.
