NCAA FOOTBALL 10 DEMO AVAILABLE TODAY

Fans Awaiting the Release of NCAA Football 10
Create Over 80,000 Custom Teams via TeamBuilder

June 18, 2009 –Electronic Arts is proud to announce that the demo of NCAA Football 10 is available today for Xbox 360 and PS3. Fans who download the free demo will experience all-new gameplay features including:
  • Defensive Keys—Prior to the snap during the pre-play, hold the left trigger while pressing the analog stick in the direction you think will stop the run. If you think the offense will pass the ball, press upward. Or, you can press the icon associated with a receiver (X, Y, A, B, LB, RB) to spotlight that individual. This will focus the defense on making sure that the chosen offensive player does not make a play.
  • Defensive Player Assist—By holding A (on 360) or X (on PS3) on defense your player will be put under CPU control so you have time to read a play and decide the best course of action.
  • Enhanced Defensive Lineman Moves—With new animations, take control of your defensive linemen using the right stick to fight pass blocks and put pressure on the quarterback.
  • Gameplanning—There are six defensive and five offensive individual game planning options, or you can globally set your offense and defense. Each option changes the way your team will perform. For example, be aggressive and try and strip the ball every time and you run the risk of getting more facemask penalties.
  • Player Lock—Player lock allows you to lock on to a specific player in order to control that position during the play. When you lock on you'll get a whole new camera angle that puts you closer to the action.
  • Set Up Plays—Set up plays allows you to run one play in order to set up another. When picking a play, you will notice that some plays have a chain link between them, which indicates that one play can set up the other. Every time you use one particular play throughout the game, you are setting up for the play that is chain linked to it. Once the play is 100% set up (as shown in your playbook), the defense is at its highest likelihood to fall for that play action.
  • 1000 new animations like throw out of a sack, new shotgun snaps/hand-offs, WR/DB interactions, tackles, double team run blocks, catches, broken tackles, and slipping in bad weather.

LOL, so what happened next? Did you return the kick? Did your drive start from the 25?

It seems a bit blander in the graphics dept than last year as well. It really feels like Madden 09. I wonder if they're using that engine.

The crowds look absolutely atrocious as per usual and some of the chants sound canned, especially the defense one. It doesnt sound like its coming from the stadium.

the sooners rb just ran for 75 yard run on me....
Hell yeah! That's what I want to hear. The CPU RB (DeMarco Murray) breaking a big run on the USER.

One thing though Guru, the Gators' D will not allow that non-sense any more. Ha! Thanks for the impressions man.

I returned the kick and started from like my 30 (where I got to on the return). It was so odd.

BTW, I scored and went on to win 42-35 in 3OT!

Custom Stadium Sounds are your friend fellow Gator fan. Trust me. It makes a world of a difference. Also, in the retail game, turn down some of the other sounds and max the crowd volume. Problem solved.

Oh, and if you have surround sound going, it will be that much better.

Thanks for the impressions guys!

How does the pocket look?

I don't know all of the Sooners corners and how good they are but they are flying around making plays. They already have a pick (Tebow got hit while throwing), two pass deflections, and a strip (after I caught a pass on a drag route they punched it out from behind). I just started the second half. It looks like we'll be able to play man coverage this year. I'm a hard core NCAA player who plays realistically and there a lot of things I see that there not letting me get away with this year. I love it : ).

Oh snap. I just went to big hit Murray on a dive play at the goal line and he just bounced back while still on his feet and ran it in over the left side. Never seen that animation before....

Thank for the impressions guys. It's early, but I like the seeing that it's polished and has a better "feel". I cannot wait for tonight when it hits the PS Store!

Go Gata!

Oh, and could you tell me the ratings for all of the players in the demo. Especially the #4s on the depth chart. I just had to.

3 smilies FTW.
Cant see ratings.
First play out the gate Bradford goes deep on a nickle to the corner for six. Playing on AA

quick question.. is it out for silver users yet?

# 32 fincane @ 06/18/09 09:43 AM
Maybe its just finally seeing the game on the HDTV and not on the laptop or the new camera angles for passing the ball. But the excitement level for the game just went up a ton. It does feel different atmosphere wise. Maybe its just because its the National Title. Rosters issues get fixed and its a first day purchase at this point.

I'm playing on Heisman. There isn't much of a pass rush at all but it some what evens out cuz some of your recievers aren't open at all. I just tried to throw a deep in to my tight end, over the linebacker in front of the safety while holding up all the way: Ball sailed about 5 yards high. This could be a Tebow thing tho. I'm gonna play with Bradford next game and see if there's a difference.

Oh, I was kidding. I just wanted to do that because some clown come in here and ask a bunch of ratings questions, knowing damn well they can view them in Team Builder.

Good to see Bradford going deep and making the defense pay.

I know this heh. I have two CDs that I got at the UF Bookstore a few years ago that make it a lot better, but the in game crap sucks.

Thanks for the headsup, downloading as we speak.

Are all the games you folks played high scoring?

That's the problem. It appears they may have tuned the game for when the user plays as a DL but they certainly didn't fix the cpu DL pass rush.

And the sliders don't work this year. Steve's videos with adjusted sliders have conclusively shown that imo.

Ive played 3 games now.

I've scored no more than 17 in any of them. The CPU has gotten no more than 17. Two on AA, one on Heisman.

game feels refreshing.

i think the OL/DL play is sort of cinematic, i could not break off those blocks at all --- needs adjusting..

greatest moment so far- the gators needed a Td to tie they got a 50 yd bomb to the back of the end zone JUMP BALL STYLE what made this moment so crazy was the Wr stayed in bounds the entile play strafing looking at the ball.

maybe its me not seeing this before BUT i have always seen them run out of bounds then magically come back in to make a play.

# 40 Maximus205 @ 06/18/09 09:58 AM
Anyone else feel like the passing feels funny? Its like there are only two trajectories the ball can go. One deep and the other a bullet which you feel you have no control over. Almost frantic without dline pressure.
