no..

they are supposedly gleaning that from the allgames interview. I don't recall that being mentioned as having highlights. Even so, until I see it, I'm skeptical. If it's highlights like last years, I'll pass...lol. If they flow in the context of the game to that point, I'll be happy.

Not worried yet...just waiting for confirmation/explanation first.

I can understand people being disappointed but when you put all the improvements that madden 10 has over 09 into perspective, I can't understand how people would think that becuase of this the game is a waste of $60....

So to sum up..

Theres no highlights in extra point but there is at half and full time?

That doesn't make any sense. If you didn't watch the game, or play the game, then there's no way you could tell the highlight was fake or real.

Unless they showed a highlight of somebody scoring a touchdown, when taking a glance at the stat sheet shows they didn't, then that would be fake.
That's how 2K5 did it. All the highlights were pre-done and fake. So I'm not real disappointed about this. I will be disappointed if we get snubbed on the Total Access stuff as well though.

Because there is a small percentage of people waiting for any negative news to pounce. It's been hard going for them this year with all the positive news so as soon as they get one thing it is like sharks smelling blood in the water.

It's gonna get a lot worse so I'd say either ignore it or buckle up.

I'm wondering the same thing. I notice in the interview Josh kept saying your "team."

I love playing a bunch of games on every week of the schedule. Gosh I hope they didn't take that away.

Not confirmed by anyone at EA yet. It's all speculation on what someone said during a live broadcast a few days ago.

not surprised to be honest. I always viewed the Extra Point as a weekly wrap-up show ala the weekly wrap up show in the 2k series of basketball games.

Well...it's a matter of context. If all you play is franchise mode, and the improvements are weak, then it may just be a waste of 60$ for that person. Just depends. I'm kind of in that boat.

The game looks much improved thus far (and looked beautiful in the backround of that Josh Looman interview), but I don't know if the areas most important to me are improved enough to warrant purchase yet. There's still time for my mind to change on that, of course.

None of that is meant as a knock on Ian or the development team. They've seemed to really knock a lot out in one year and I will certainly commend them for those efforts.

I will still buy this game regardless, but I really wanted video highlights for the weekly "highlight" show

I never played NFL 2k5, but I did play the College Hoops 2k series, and I know they had fake highlights when looking at the top games from the past week.

Then again, Madden has always sold based on a lot of fluff and shininess. Like I said on the other thread, I have come faith since Looman did good stuff with HC, but unless they tell us A LOT more about things like contracts, the Draft, and such, this game is still rent first IMO.
These are my thoughts exactly. While the highlight show is great for the presentation aspect of franchise, what have they added to the core aspect of franchise mode, meaning the actual things involved in running a franchise?

My fear is that they have added nothing, and just fixed things that were broken last year while adding the highlight show to make it appear to be a whole new franchise mode. Essentially, it looks to be the exact same mode with a prettier interface and highlight show. The same mode I could only get through 4 seasons of in Madden 09 without getting bored.

So what's really new with the Extra Point show? Except that all the important infos are now available in a PTI-like sidebar. I'm not that impressed with this "feature".

# 196 Jukeman @ 06/02/09 09:11 PM
Like a poster said "unless hightlights are from the actual game, its pointless" I sim(watch) all of my games out and its lame to watch a highlight that didnt even occur in the game...hence Choops2k8 and 2k5's sportscenter thing(halftime was legit, madden09 was similar...)

Most of those people aren't truly disappointed, they're secretly happy that some bad news trickled out.
