UFC 2009 Undisputed Full Roster Reveal (Gamespot)

Gamespot has revealed the full roster for UFC 2009 Undisputed.

	"Ever since THQ lifted the veil on UFC 2009 Undisputed last year, the game has been a beacon of hope for fans who've been looking for a fighting game that makes the most of the mixed martial arts craze. UFC 2009 isn't the first UFC game--the brand has been in videogames since the Dreamcast days--but, after some missteps on the PS2 and Xbox, it seems like the right time for UFC to make a comeback in videogames, just as the sport's real-life popularity is skyrocketing. Recently THQ came by GameSpot HQ to show us an updated build of the game and, more importantly, give us the complete rundown of every fighter in the game. During the visit, THQ's general manager of product development-fighting Colin Mack sat down with our own Ryan MacDonald to get the full roster rundown and talk about some of the game's finer points."

Really? Hmm. I'd rather take Three former UFC champs and a former Pride Champ over threee fighters who I like but havent accomplished much in the UFC. I promise you more people are excited about the prospect of fighting with Ortiz or Pitbull than Guida or Hazslett.

Not to mention that these past champion actually suck. Why the hell would they put Cro Cop in the game. Huge bust in the UFC. Tito is horrible. The Mainiac is getting beat up by guys in the WWE now. I would rather have the newer guys. Guida and Hamill

Yeah, while I want those guys too I gotta cut them a break. They're giving us infinitely more fighters than pretty much any other fighting game, so to expect them to have everyone possible is just asking a bit much. The guys being whined about are known names in MMA and have been in the game since the start (because they were in the UFC and the game's been under development for a while). It's not like they specifically said "Screw Guida, let's put Sylvia in the game"....

Gamespot has even more vids. BJ vs Nate Diaz, and Serra vs Hughes - vids $ 16-13. There is some ground work and some cool stuff I won't ruin.

I guess I see things from a gamer and business perspective. Putting Dustin Haszlett or Clay Guida on the back of a box isnt going to sell games. Putting Tito, Pitbull and Cro Cop on the game is more likely to help sell this game. The hardcore fans are going to buy this game no matter if Guida and Hamill are in the game or not. The casual fan knows Tito and Pitbull and their inclusion may get them to buy the game.

I read that there isn't going to be a cpu vs cpu option and if that's the case my excitement level has dropped.

LoL? I really shouldn't even try to explain it but......... The reason is for when you have a group of people in the same house and you want to have a tourney and keep records for who is up for a title shot and so on, you need to have cpu vs cpu to fight also. Understand? It's not about not wanting to play the game because I will be, it's more a different kind of play style, Sim/League. I would rather play offline with friends/family than online with quitters and cheaters any day.
