EA sent this piece of info over to us, and we thought it was pretty interesting. So, we decided to share it with you all as well. Read below to see what EA has to say about what happens to Boston's DNA once Starbury is added to the Celtics.
After adding Marbury to the Celtics in NBA Live 09, there were a few notable team DNA changes.
Isolation: 10%
Pick and Roll Ball Handler: 25%
Pick and Roll Roll Man: 7%
Post up: 13%
Spot up: 26%
Off-Ball Screen: 4%
Cuts: 15%
BEFORE the pickup, the TEAM DNA is:
Isolation: 9%
Pick and Roll Ball Handler: 21%
Pick and Roll Roll Man: 9%
Post up: 14%
Spot up: 25%
Off-Ball Screen: 4%
Cuts: 18%
Marbury’s INDIVIDUAL DNA is:
Isolation: 23%
Pick and Roll Ball Handler: 49%
Pick and Roll Roll Man: 0%
Post up: 0%
Spot up: 21%
Off-Ball Screen: 3%
Cuts: 4%
EA Sports: This data tells us that when the Celtics add Marbury to their team, they gain the benefit in the PG isolation game because 23% of the time, Marbury’s in isolation. The C’s also see a jump in their Pick and Roll game too because Marbury is an astounding 49% pick and roll ball handler. They see a decrease in post up play because they have a scoring first mentality PG in Steph who spends more time with the ball rather than dishing it down low to KG or giving Pierce and Ray Allen their touches. Steph is known to be a shooter first. This looks like it may hurt the variety of the Celtics offense if Marbury joins them, but may improve their production on the bench.
