"Hey Madden fans, we’re back again with another (quick) update for Madden NFL 10. After talking about technology and philosophy for the past few weeks, we thought it was a good idea to actually show you a new feature this week. Now being that it’s so early in the year, we obviously can’t show big grandiose new features, so we wanted to show something that is in the game that came directly from community feedback and wishlists. It’s been a long time coming for this one...I’m stoked that we were finally able to get this in."

The he** with new feautres blah blah etc....give everybody what they want which is exactly what we see on sunday, some reporters on the sidelines doing lil small segmients, refs on the field towers etc... the whole sha bang and a well deserved presentation also have the stars stand out among the weak and be able to game plan a week before you face your opponet in franchise mode to strategize against there weaknesses and how to take there star player out the game well minimize the damage he can do on the field thats all we really want. Any who i know none of this is the new madden teams fault but hey EA as a company needs to step it up and stop trying to be like my beloved NY Yankees and buy everything on the market. PRESENTATION & GAMEPLAY/ONLINE-FRANCHISE should be way at the top of the board for the new team developing Madden I sure hope it is other wise were getting the same old madden with better graphics and new-feautres well new things that should of been in this game already. I guess the old team were not big football fans cause they sure didnt know what was exactly in football. I guess they had the NBA live crew work on madden while they work on Live lol.
i wish that i could actually read your post but the fact that you typed it in all lower case letters and barely used any punctuation marks other than a period has rendered most of what you wrote impossible to read as it all blends into one long rambling paragraph that is totally impossible for me to follow so it makes responding to you a ton more effort than i would normally want to deal with please work on this in the future commas and the enter key can be your friend.

That being said, I don't like the fact that EA has the rights to the NFL. I'd rather it was an open competition. I'm just not kidding myself that someone else will buy it up. EA has the most money and first rights to re-up on the contract, I think, before anyone else can even bid on it. In fact, EA already re-upped on the deal once already, so they obviously plan on keeping it for some time.

I agree that presentation and gameplay are the two things they need to focus on the most. Madden lacks severly in both of these areas and really, after the inital newness wears off, the games all become the same and boring.

I'm not at all interested in them doing online franchise. I think it will take away from other areas of the game that need work a lot more. Besides, if gameplay remains broken, then online franchise is worthless. Also, EA seems to suck and implementing new features like this and I would expect it to fail.

this is not new news. 2k5 had this in 2004. half sacks, assisted tackles, gang tackles, sideline catches, killer animations, and the list goes on. i want something new in the game. give me something new. though this is good for people who never played 2k5 but for us who have played this, this isnt good news this is regression.

So, why even have a wish list then? Is it irrelevant for the people that have been wanting this in Madden?

EA won't be announcing any big time announcements about 10 until around draft time.

Can you explain how adding something to a game that people have wanted in and complained due to it lacking is regression?

This I've gotta hear.

CB, thanks for trying to keep this thread under control. I think EA is making strides to get better, and that's all we can really ask.

Sorry about that, I'm just getting used to the quote reply and was rushing to get my point across. Im glad you agree that EA having the license is actually screwing us football gaming fans.

The fact they have no competition has caused them to get real lazy these past years. I believe if they had competition these past years the new team wouldnt have to work so hard to give the football community a good game this year, and more good ones going forward.

Yes I believe they will re-up it again, especially now that were in a recession. They also have a new team that has started work early then before and has hit the ground running, which has really made me happy to see. The work they have done so far that I know about already has made me wish I could pre-order now or get my hands on it.

I have complete confidence in Ian and Co, so much confidence that all they have to do this year in my eyes is what the other team has basically been doing but better. They just have to slap on the updated rosters which thats all we been really getting these past years just with new things that usually disappear but never amounts to making the game better.

Three things they need to do is fix gameplay, add better presentation or should I say a presentation period, and vision cone/get working on the next madden to make it better then the madden 10 we will be receiving in August. Just imagine being in Franchise mode and needing one game to get in the playoffs, new presentation can show you the team you need to lose score by having a sport ticker in-game to show scores around the lg, also show highlights of every game or at least 5 during halftime, possibly more after a game, and maybe a season warp up to show top plays of the week, breakout performances or records that have been broken that week. I mean they have the license they can use a sportcenter feature combined with a nfl network feature. This would benefit the game in a good way use NFL network for games that are played on thursday and saturday with there commentators and different commentators for monday games, same for sunday games but with stations such as CBS.

Vision cone should be brought back as a option because it really showed the differences between qb's. For example im tired of just seeing some third string qb get a start and rip my good d apart. There is no way a guy like Leftwich should have the awarness of a guy like P.Manning/T.Brady.

That's true, considering there is no other choice in 2009 for NFL, so at least the EA team is engaging the community.

I am loving the little changes. 1/2 sacks needed to be back.
also i noticed that the players stats on there player cards are not correct, they do not total right. maybe something to look at or adjust?

I just thought of this idea....I think the makers of Madden should use ESPN, obviously, but also put in NBC and CBS since the games are played on those stations as well... HOWEVER, for whatever station your game is playing on, you should have a completely different Presentation, even commentators coudl be different for each station (idk how likely that is, but its a great idea)....also, for the superbowl or monday night games or just big games, have different presentation, have the commentators and fans and everything actually know whats going on instead of having the same OLD REPEATATIVE presentation, it makes the game get boring, we need CHANGE in the PRESENTATION!
