THQ Launches Official Website For UFC 2009 Undisputed

	"THQ Inc. today announced the launch of its official Web site for UFC� 2009 Undisputed, the company�s highly anticipated videogame based on Ultimate Fighting Championship�. The site is now live at www.ufcundisputed.com. The site will go live with in-game images of Welterweight Championship contenders Georges St-Pierre and BJ Penn, who are scheduled to meet in the Octagon� this weekend for UFC 94, along with former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Forrest Griffin featured on the main page. www.ufcundisputed.com will feature up-to-date game information and assets, including videos, screenshots and fighter renders. In addition, the site will include detailed information about specific game features, deliver content in step with UFC�s upcoming Pay-Per-View schedule and reveal individual fighter profiles leading up to the game�s launch in Spring 2009."

The website is cool, just watching the virtual fighters bounce around a bit and checking out their martial arts etc.

Glad to see them say its spring release. GameStop just told me June.

UFC 93 had an ad during the broadcast that said "Coming this May"

Just swung by the website...they added more fighters - florian, bisping, wanderlei, rashad, nog, brock, mir, joe daddy.

Some of the models look fantastic (mir, bisping) and a couple look a off like florian especially.

So that's 14 fighters we know for sure that have been rendered.
suprised chuck isn't there since when they first started developing he would have been priority #1
Another suprise is the lack of anderson silva!

edit#2 - only 1 rep. for 170 and 185 lbs respectively - 6 for lhw

I believe the advertisement before I believe Gamestop. They have used June 3rd as a placeholder for the past few months.

I consider Hendu, Franklin and Bispings to be middleweights.

agreed w/ henderson - although I'm not sure where he's fighting next.
but franklin is a natural lhw and was doing some disgusting weight cutting to get down to 185, so I'm pretty sure he's a lifer for lhw.
they also had BJ Penn listed at 170, but I'm pretty sure in the game he'll be 155 by default.
All that said, I think in the game it won't be an absolute even distribution of fighters. 80 is a lot of people for a fighting game - I could see one division getting stuck w/ 10-12 people and maybe LHW getting as much as 20-22.

Looking at the characters...I don't know what it is, but developers must struggle w/ light hair textures, and eyes to a certain extent. Everyone looks like they have brown hair and brown eyes.

on the community section of the website, I saw someone posted an update made by gamespot. it's gamespot AU - and the show is called crosshairs (it sucks), but they got to play ufc and although they aren't big fans the new things I learned are:

roger heurta is in the game
anderson silva
matt hughes

Mouthguards can be knocked out.
Right trigger can be used as 'special' modifier for fighters hardest hits (this wasn't super clear though) they didn't know what it was called but for at least one fighter threw a 'superman punch'

they played for an hour and still didn't know all the controls (which to me is a good thing)

there was no new footage.

edit; forgot to add most importantly they reported it comes out 'end of may'

found an article i haven't seen. Best article imo so far about the ufc game, it's about 3X more indepth about the controls than any other article I've read and I'm even more pumped now.

Sounds like the stand up game is fairly solid, which I figured would be the easiest to recreate.

The controls for the ground game seem good... hopefully they can get the issues they are having with it ironed out within 3 months time.

Luckily for us they seem to be giving themselves plenty of time for development.

UFC needs an real important update! The reason is on Xbox 360 Ranked or Player Matches you can quit before you lose and it will not count against your record. So if anybody has any real connections please make THQ or UFC aware of the childish things happening online.. and for those that game and would like to see your boy then holla at xNGROx Ultraman on the UFC "strickly Knockouts and Submissions are waiting for you!
