I've said this before about the possibility of another PC game, and i will say it again. Let's assume 2K9 does get released on PC...

We are so far away from making it anything near what MVP 2005 was. Let's look at history. In 1998 sports videogame modding took off after faces were introduced in NBA Live 98. Some very talented people at the NBA Live Series Center put together some tools and editors that allowed users to edit attributes and graphics. Five years later when MVP Baseball 2003 came out we were able to use those old tools to edit the new baseball game. Then someone stumbled upon Oedit for the stadiums. All of these programs existed.

We don't have a single program in existance that we know can edit 2K9. We are starting from scratch. We may never be able to produce a working attribute editor, let alone a graphics unpacker and repacker. Then we have to get into developing a program for editing structures, like Oedit.

We are a long way off.

Rglass isn't around, DangerZ isn't around. Arushan isn't updating Oedit. That's not to say some very talented modders couldn't build new editors, but to be honest this group of modders never has.

Good luck, but lets back up take a breath and get a hold of the game before we start talking about a editing Wrigley, changing the name of the site and all these other ideas.

NBA 2k9 on the PC was the same game from consoles save online play. Which sucked. But if you like better graphics and smoother framerate with the better PCs, I don't see how you pass it up. Basically, you're getting the same game. You save $30 with losing online play. Not bad.

Now that VC has taken over baseball and hockey, I would bet that they will be on PC just like NBA. We will see. But it's pretty clear from the image that it will be on PC and there's no reason to believe it won't happen.

Oof. How would you say a 2.4 Gig Core 2 Quad would compare to that?

Thanks for posting the requirements! Looks like I'd be good for everything on the recommended list except for that.

Processor-wise, you'll be just fine. Make sure you meet the rest of the specs, namely the video card.

For those of you that have gaming rigs capable of running the game at very high resolutions, the game looks absolutely phenomenal.

Yeah, my Geforce 8800 will take care of that just fine. RAM is borderline, but can be upgraded if need be - I'm still running stock that came with my tower.

Thanks for the response! The processor was my only concern - I wasn't sure if it would utilize all 4 cores.

I've got an e4500 cpu (2.2ghz Duo Core), which is going to be my only bottleneck from running it on high. I'm assuming I can probably play the game on medium.

Are there plans to release a PC demo?

Computer gurus: My rig has a Pentium 4 3.6 gig processor, my video card is ATI Radeon X800 XT, and I have 1 gb of memory. Do I have any shot of running this game at a decent clip, looking better than decent?

Thanks.

Joe

I really hope this comes out with some kind of online play, if not that will turn a lot of people's heads towards something else. There is no way in hell I will be dropping 60 bucks for a console version with no mods in it, with the arcadish big logos and crappy uniforms, etc.

Unfortunately your video card doesn't meet the minimum requirements and your CPU is only single core...

Thanks in advance, and thanks for the baseball fever. After last year I thought I was resigned to giving up on baseball for awhile.

Chad
Yeah I have NBA 2k9 and I would say it is the EXACT game other than online. Trust me it is going to be good when it will be moddable. I even heard that it runs smoother on PC than console. So enjoy!

$20 for the PC version. BEAUTIFUL. For $20 its a day 1 purchase. My wife is going to hate me though, this and Empire come out on the same day.

Is that confirmed? And if so, where?

Cool, thanks. Looks like my need for renting it first probably just went out the window - it'd cost almost half the price of the full PC game to do that!

I just found the PC version on 2KSports website out of boredom, and I am excited beyond means. I've been waiting on PC baseball since MVP 05.

# 39 SoxFan01605 @ 02/11/09 11:04 PM
The PC version has my very excited.

I'll still rent it first on 360 (game pass) and if all seems good enough I'll pick it up on CPU. I should be able to get a good feel for the game while I wait for PC reviews to surface and see what (if any) issues arise with that version.

The best part is I meet (and mostly exceed) the recommended requirements, so I should be in for a good experience in terms of performance if all is right. Looking forward to it
