Here is the first comedic skit in a series of three, featuring National League Cy Young Award winner and Major League Baseball 2K9 cover athlete, Tim Lincecum of the San Francisco Giants. Check it out, right here.
That might be the corniest thing I have ever seen. What a lame attempt at the usually funny ESPN commercials.
This is what 2K thinks will sell games? This is what they think fans of baseball gaming want to see? What a joke. I thought the marketing was bad last year, this is shaping up to be even worse.
Ugh. Even "The Lefty" is a righty (note the mouse hand). More overlooked (or flat-out wrong) specifics by 2K.
lol...okay, now I think we are taking the nit-picking to rediculous heights. I don't think it was meant to imply he was a left-handed mouse user. I think it was just a general baseball reference. It's just a silly commercial spot anyway.
For the record, many lefities use the mouse with their right hand...not uncommon. Heck, most public and office computers have the mouse on the right side and lefties often just don't bother moving it.
I understand the frustration about the lack of info and 2k's marketing in general. I agree the commercial was basically a retread of ESPn ideas and not that good (plus the timing, given the info stream coming from the competition, is poor). This kind of critique though...it's just silly to me.
I'm a lefty and use the mouse with my right hand. Many of us lefties do.
That said, I think some of you are taking the analysis of this 30 second spot too far. It wasn't hysterical, but it was humorous. Don't let the lack of screens, etc, totally color your perception of everything else.
