NBA 2K9 may very well be the best game to come out this year. But just as with this season's crop of college football teams, even the best seem to have some major flaws. Check out Jayson Young's article: NBA 2K9 Demoted to D-League For Poor Online Performance and then be sure leave your own feedback!

"We’re only a few weeks into the virtual season, but already, NBA 2K9’s online meltdown has earned itself a spot in the NBDL.

There's a chance the online issues will cause some gamers to give up the game completely, but signs of server stability are at least a sign that the real NBA 2K9 is trying to shine through. Either way, surely nobody could have anticipated that this first-round pick, so full of potential, would fall so far so quickly during the launch period."

I hate all sports games online, because so many clowns jock the top teams, I use the Jets, Knicks and Notre Dame online, not exactly powerhouses. I've used these same teams for my 8 year online life. Yet I've always faced the best teams online. We're all Men Online, most of the time, so why so many act like Girls? Go to madden lobby east 1 and count how many people are using Dallas....what a joke. Copy Cats and Cheesers, I'd rather get pwned by Silenced Skorpion with Stopping Power...much better to die in COD4 than waste 40 mins against some moron in a 2-3 Zone with the Rockets, with Tmac at PG, and Artest at SG.
Little ranting and raving I see, but one thing you said was ingenius. Win two or three games with different "tier" teams to move up to the next "tier." That adds replayability, challenge, and eliminates some early cheesing. Couple this and not let you invite friends makes a pretty good start.

This is a great article. About time these guys got called out for this crap. 2K is so far behind in the online genre that it knocks their games down a notch.

I only play this game online for league games. Luckily I found one that's very sim. It's got 30 teams, 10 minute quarters and it's very strict about sim play, which is fine by me.

The only other person I play this game is, is my brother. We play on the same console, so I can let him know he's playing like a cheap mutha... whenever I feel the need to.

All in all, I'm disappointed with 2k9. I was so hyped about playing this game before it came out. I got the game and it just dropped a dud on me with the online play along with the ******** sliders on default along with the even more ******** player ratings.

If it wasn't for the league that I'm in I wouldn't even play this game until a patch was released. So many things lead me to believe that this game was rushed.

great article - very thorough.

however, you miss-used the term "hedged our bets" - you and the brethren took a naked, directional bet.
