IGN has posted the following NBA Live 09 updates:
- NBA Live 09's Be A Pro Mode
Quote: 
"Be A Pro mode rewards players for positive plays (such as scoring a basket, grabbing a rebound, dishing out an assist, blocking a shot or coming up with a steal) and penalizes them for negative plays (like missed shots, turnovers and getting scored on), then provides the player with a rating at the conclusion of the game."

Quote: IGN: "Can you also explain how the NBA Academy will play a role in scouting rookies and draft classes?"
Jeremy Tiner: "During the offseason, rookies can be invited to scouting workouts. You can test drive these rookies and participate in scouting workout drills. Depending on your performance, you may find out a player is a "bust" or a "sleeper", meaning the player might never pan out and be the next Olowokandi or be the next under the radar star like Monta Ellis.
