I agree with you,I'm already getting tired of this game and I don't even have it yet. The videos look and sound like 2k8 in my opinion. While it may feel different from 2k8, I think it will get old really fast. Don't get me wrong, the graphics and presentation have improved a lot, but it doesn't stick out as much from a gameplay perspective.
Besides, what is there to do in this game anyway? I noticed that this game has no features besides Association 2.0 and OTP. I think association is overrated anyway because all it is is headlines with an NBA.com interface. This game will probably only be fun to play against other people. That's good and all, but I want a game that's fun to play by myself and with other people. From the looks of it, Live is that game.
I was kinda agreeing with you until your last statement. NBA 2k9 has two major major advantages that Live cant compete with when it comes to single player gameplay.
1. Core Gameplay
Both games have poor ratings and default sliders that need work. Both games have a bunch of sliders to tweak. NBA 2k9 is still the game where you can dive on the floor, into the crowed. It still has better core AI, better collision animations, better ball physics, better shooting and in most cases dribbling animations. With the splitting of double teams and the improved AI the core gameplay looks better than CH 2k8 and CH 2k8 was one of the best sports games I have ever played.
2. File Share
With fileshare the best sliders and sensibly rated rosters with updates and everything are right there. Now you have accurate tendencies, ratings, and sliders. The top rated rosters and sliders will be better than anything the hired devs could come up with.
These are the main two reasons why CH 2k8 isnt old. I still play it. I might be playing it this time next year.
Oden=dunk not layup
B-Roy=need to handle the ball more
Bayless=bench...He will not be the starter.
Aldridge=perimeter shots only saw 1
This aint Blazer bball.
As a Blazer fan I cosign. Aldridge did look for the shot twice though and lets be real with a 72 Med range rating he shouldn't be shooting anyway. The fact that Bayless is starting just proves they dont pay attention to the team. Nate McMillan didnt equivocate when he declared that Blake was the starter but you are right even if Bayless was the starter he wouldn't run that much of the offense.
Wow - again, great vid. The more I see, the more I am hyped for this game. Marion's shot is captured perfectly, it's hilarious. I mean it's the NBA equivelant of Craig Counsel's batting stance. Love it.
I dont know why ppl are mad about it looking like 2k8. 2k9 didnt need a whole new face lift the things that were wrong with 2k8 have been improved in 2k9 thats why it looks like 2k8. DO u really expect a sports game to have completly new animations from one year to the next?
For me, there were a lot of things to like about the vid. I've been busy the last few days, so maybe I'm not experiencing the fatigue that some of you are with the vids, but there are some real exciting things here. The AI pay is much better. I haven't seen that old robotic, wait for the last second and shoot the jumper AI. I'm also seeing some nice missed shots by the computer on the inside, but we'll see if that holds up on HoF. The animation of Wade on the blocking call was sick. Charges are back in the game, which almost warrants a purchase all on its own, and the ball handling seems more explosive and less canned. The off the ball activity is also a great big leap ahead of 2k8.
I still reserve judgement until I get my hands on the demo, but there are some really nice things here in these vids. Thanks again, Steve. 2k8 didn't need a revolutionary change. I love the overall system, and I'm more than content with them refining the gameplay and adding new features, like online 5-on-5.
I've seen all the vids put up, even in low res, they look awesome. The presentation is superb. Ok, not the commentary so much...
Love the end of quarter cut scenes/replays. 2k takes the crown yet again this year.

I saw Aldridge take two mid range jumpers but he usually takes them from the left side of the floor, not in the same spot Marcus camby shoots from (above the ft line)
