NBA 2K9 Preview and Screenshots (Jeuxvideo)

Jeuxvideo has posted their preview of NBA 2K9. They have also included some screenshots.

looks better than the gamekult screens.... nice to see in game pics instead of the replay bullshots.

I think NHL 2k9 actually looks better than this image quality-wise (edges, not the models) so I have/had high hopes for the graphics to be improved form last year. I'm hoping "2K HD graphics" that they promote means better textures during gameplay and less aliasing (not just during replays). still not happy with the lighting but hopefully that looks better on my HDTV.

I've read some forums with Dev who does or used to work on a 2K sports title and he explained how getting the replay quality for 2K games was a very important part of designing the graphics. I appreciate that because I love the 2k replays... best graphics ever IMO (except the lighting) but I just hope the in game quality graphics do not suffer.

one things for sure... no shortage on the little detials as per usual with 2k...

I wouldn't make that assumption from a screenshot but if they left it the same I'll be disappointed

Yeah no kidding... they had the shoe creator not that long ago... doing some basic design would make them look so much better than being these blank clunky white shoes. I'm not one of those accessory guys who obsesses over that kind of thing, but that does annoy me.

Other than some kind of design, there should also be a predominately white and black sneaker that at least has the trim of that team's color. Is that too much to ask, especially after so many years of the same thing? If it's not fixed, I really hope we have the option to change the sneaker color and brand of every player without any bugs.

Wow....those were the days!

...I remember when I'd watch the Bulls play and immediately want to pick up the controller and play the exact game....imagination does wonders!!! Now, even as my imagination grows, it's getting harder and harder to distinguish between real-life gameplay and video games...I absolutely love it! Where are we gonna be in the year 2020...I can't even imagine!!!

I agree. With advanced technology comes advanced expectations. I'm sure the poster was half-joking when he made that statement, so I dont' want him to take this the wrong way. I just feel that if people truly had that perspective, we would never have the great advancements in games that we have today.
