I still don't get why you guys are criticizing it so much. Once again it's just a teaser trying to show off highlights and whatnot. Yall scrutinizing like "he took 3 steps" and "his hand doesn't touch the rim" or whatever. That's not ruining the gameplay experience for me. I don't even notice the hand not touching the rim unless I'm in replay and I'm not so sure it's as easy to fix as some of you might imagine. If it was I'm sure it'd be done by now.

I guess it depends on what you're looking for. From a certain standpoint this vid confirms that there are a lot of nagging issues that still plague 2k, final adjustments to the build notwithstanding.

looks like 2k is starting the get the "EA syndrome"...not improving their games and leaving the nagging issues in year after year.

looks like it will be another year of easy dunks in traffic where body contact doesn't affect the dunk animation at all. if a defender is standing right in his way, a guy should not be able to just rise up and plow right through the defener...he should have to avoid the defender and go for a layup or floater.

Yeah, thats what i was meaning in my post. Out of the 4 teasers this one just went overboard...

Good point... realised that one just after posting the message.. However I am from the Netherlands (Europe), we play under FIBA Rules, no No-Charge zone yet here...

But of course you are right... Still don't like the teaser...

Yep because the teasers arent meant for anyone on OS. I just showed the teaser to my cousin and he loved it. Why? Because it looked cool and he recognizes that its a trailer. He also isnt as obssessed about realism as people on this board are. He represents 98% of the buying public.

Is anyone here realistically worried that this game wont be sim? If not, why does it matter if Rose dunked over Wallace?

Never had an issue with easy dunks in traffic. Using the sliders did a great job in fix issues like that.

But that doesn't work ONLINE. They either have to let you adjust sliders for ranked matches OR make the game sim out of the box. Or lastly, make a sim setting, that is made for people who want to play NBA, and not And 1.

People will find ANYTHING 2 cry about brotha!

I don't think they were loved enough as children lol

Seriously though, I agree with u and also, people have 2 keep in mind that one man's trash is another man's treasure. Perception is everything and if u aren't impressed with what u see, that doesn't pose true 4 everyone else. Learn 2 think outside of yourself...

When I compose all 4 TEASERS, I see the potential and a tip of the iceberg of what we'll be getting with this years installment.

The problem is, alot of ya'll want things YOUR WAY! And if that's the case, take your @zz 2 Burger King! While you're there ask 4 a Big Mac and see the results u get.

It's a hard problem to fix.

Sucks for the online foiks. Still I promise you more people would rather have highlight plays like that online than super realistic sim games. Its just the way it is. Sim gamers are out numbered and the goal is to sell the games.

Spoken like someone who's never dunked on anyone in his life!

exactly. for online play you have to play with default sliders....the default sliders are always "arcadey" and not realistic.

i can understand it in arcade mode, but if you are playing on a harder difficulty setting, it should be harder to dunk.

All the more reason to make a SIM lobby with SIM sliders. It doesn't make sense to do all of the things that VC does to make the game realistic, then shoot yourself in the foot by minimizing the effect of contact in the paint.

They can even give the lobby a corny name like "fundamental" so the arcadey people who want to mash the X button don't feel offended by playing in the normal lobby.

Im basing my purchase off of what i see from 2k in videos and when i get to play their demo. Im not speaking for anyone else but myself. I dont want to play the same old engine were you can defy physics.

That's the other solution. Make the "Hall of Fame" lobby have Sim sliders. People will just stick to the Superstar lobby and again, we're all happy.

If that's the case, are you not going to play any basketball game at all this year?

All three games have their oddities... I don't see why it seems like 2k is being held to a higher standard, IMO.

I actually agree with what he's saying. If 2k put out a bad game, I'd just do manual roster updates, like many NFL fans were forced to do for a few years after NFL 2k5. Even if the game wasn't "bad", but there was a problem that I just needed fixed(like turbo blocks in past years), I'd skip the new game if the problem wasn't remedied.

With the addition of 5 on 5, I'm pretty much guaranteed to get it this year, but there is still the possibility that the game has a broken feature that needs to be patched. If that were the case, I'd wait and buy other games I plan to get this fall.

If 2k is held to a higher standard, it's because it has been the highest standard in bball gaming. That's just natural. The smart kid is expected to get better grades.
