This week's NHL 2K9 Developer Diary focuses three new gameplay elements in NHL 2K9 that make hockey what it is. Check out what NHL 2K9 Producer Ben Bishop had to say about the new features in his NHL 2K9 Developer Diary and then hop on over to the NHL 2K9 Screenshot Page for some new screenshots of the game!

"Hi everyone. For this development diary, I am going to talk a little bit about some of the new, unique-to-hockey features we added for NHL 2K9. As you’ve probably heard already, one of our main goals this year was to try to bring the fun back to hockey video games. When we first started designing this year’s game, we felt that there were several ways we could help to accomplish that. One of them was doing the Wii version, which we’ve talked about quite a bit, and another was adding a simpler control scheme to allow for players with any level of experience to jump in and be able to play with little-to-no learning curve."

OK. Enough already, please.

I'll freely admit that I spend much more time in the EA NHL forum, as that's the game I'll be getting at release. While I spent countless hours playing the 2K series from its birth to 2K7, it has lost me to an extent since the move to next-gen. I will however be keeping a close eye on 2K9, as I would love to have two great but different hockey games. In fact, last year was the first one I can remember in which I didn't buy both EA's and 2K's offering at some point during the hockey season...

Anyways, the point I'm trying to make is, mods can't be everywhere and tend to hang out (and hence see questionable material) in forums of their interest. That doesn't mean that TOS violations are any more acceptable in one forum over another. Again, from this point forward, if anyone feels that there is trolling or any other TOS violation afoot, please use the report post function so that a moderator can address the post(s) in question. Thanks everyone and sorry for the interruption.
