You can control you jumpshot this year so its more like 2K's where if you want to shoot well you have to learn that persons shot.

i can deal with herky jerky animations, bad animations in general, its truely the gameplay and AI that im interested for this year. especially the dynamic dna. included among that would be late game late qrt AI, substituting at the right time for players in foul trouble etc., and lastly if teams play like themselves and or take advantage of mismatches.

Looks good but Live's animations are still too inconsistent. Some look pretty good, and others just look awkward. The animations are just too hit and miss. Can't wait for the demo to see how the feel of the game is.

Anyone know what % build this is?

This game appears to be too rigid and choppy. I'm just not feeling it.

This is basically how I feel about live this year if they can get most of these things that were listed here right. I won't have a problem buying this years game.

not bad...

I owned LIVE 08 for quite a while and still fire up the old demo once in a while and this is leaps n bounds ahead of it... still has a few rough spots on animation but one thing I've noticed about that is you almost always notice it a lot more when watching it than when playing it.

I think this will hold up pretty well to the competition this year

The fact that some people can't be satisfied no matter what video is released by all means stuns me.

Okay you've posted in every thread posted, about an animation that bothers you, we get it. But dang seriously its a broke record. What about the hundred others that look fine.

One thing I heard no one comment on, is the foot planting and how well they run up and down the court with out all the sliding.

No one gave credit to the skin textures, court detail. The emotions in the players. How great every details in the some of the crossover animations.

All I hear is negative after negative from the same people, who keep saying I'm not going to buy it and 2k this. Seriously if you have no intentions of getting this game, stop posting already.

I didn't see one animation in this video, that looked anywhere near a game killer or such as issue of unplayable. Game looks great, and much better than 08 in many ways.

I love the fact that I will finally complete my dynasty, game looks solid overall. Even with the hiccups, its looking to be a great game this year. Thanks EA NBA Team.

C'mon man, plenty of people had a lot of good things to say. I'm as big of a 2K basketball fan as their is and even I said I liked a lot of what I saw.

Tell em jt.. its definitely looking worth a buy. I have Live 08 that i bought when the price dropped as i said i would, and these videos look alot better than the current game from animations to the simple fact that the players dont just pop off the floor when they dunk now.

Does it matter how long you hold it down like last year?

or do you have to time the jump shot?

# 54 stizz @ 08/27/08 04:23 AM
Yeah, shot release does matter this year. Supposedly the arc of your shot will show if you released too late or too early.

I honestly don't understand the cartoonish player model comments

LMAO! How are you of all people gonna talk about broken records when you're on an infinite loop in the 2K boards about marketing? Oh my god.

It stuns you that people don't like the look of the game? It just doesn't look good to some of us man, we have a right to say it, regardless if whether or not we buy it. Videos are posted to solicit comments in general, not praise. We post our reactions to it, good or bad. Sorry it irks you we don't share your enthusiasm for a product that doesn't look like it will live up to our standards.

Not really.

I'm definitely picking up a JO or Calderon alternate jersey on opening night. Those are sexy.

BehindShadows is really defending Live like its his own now isn't he? Jesus, the game does not look that great. Sure, the textures are great, the court-great, the commentary-great. But then.......
animations-average, player models-subpar, movement in general-average, dunk animations-average. Everything about live aside from the LOOK of the game is just, average. I don't know how you can say that it's going to be a great game judging by that video.....

# 59 DubTrey1 @ 08/27/08 02:07 PM
Looking forward to the demo - looks like they have made some strong strides to this point and have tightened up some things (especially the ball physics off of the rim) IMO, but it seems they may just be about another year away from stealing any thunder from 2K -

# 60 Muzyk23 @ 08/27/08 02:38 PM
How can some of you at every step emphasize that it's soooo much better than 08? it is not that hard to accomplish, because 08 was average!!

I totally agree with bingballa - the sound, commentary and crowd reactions are superb.

However, I don't dig the graphics, the way the players look and definitely animations.

This game in my eyes does not represent real basketball - and that's what I expect from a basketball game - these are my standards and personal opinion.
