Totally off-topic guys, but I just got the latest DIME magazine thrown on my desk.

Best cover ever.

Same story it seems with Live as it has been the last few years - looks awesome... until it starts moving. The animations are still pretty bad and just light years behind the competition. They're just not smooth and it kills the otherwise excellent graphics.

Its odd to see Kobe express that much emotion.

Exactly what I was gonna say. There's no denying the progress, even from last year's game, but especially from two years ago. But there's still some major issues, mainly with the speed of some of the animations in relation to others. Specifically, some offensive moves are way too quick for the defensive animations, which leads to some awkward looking collision detection/clipping issues. The net animations are still awful too. But that's nowhere near a game killer like the animation issues might be.

Having said all that, I'm actually quite looking forward to trying this one out because like I said, the progress is obvious. As an alternative to the straight sim style of the NBA 2K series (which will always be my preference..sim that is), this one CAN be fun for a game or two to change up the pace.

In that case, here's some questions:

1) What improvements to Franchise mode should fans be excited about most for NBA Live '09?

2) Is there an option for putting a player on the trading block in Franchise mode?

3) Will Oklahoma City make it into the game?

Thanks for taking my questions, Stepehensonmc.

Steph will you be able to defend the pick and roll this year It looks awesome but it also looks like It could be abused so can you go underneath or hedge the screen? Thanks for answering

There were some subtle things in there that I liked.
-Bellinelli 'hooking' Bynum as he drove in the lane.
-Alot of wrist action on jumpers. Like you see guys snap their wrists when they release a shot. Looks really defined.
-Breaking out of a jab step looks smooth. Not herky jerky. Fisher and Odom did it.

Disliked:
-Contested shots seemed to have no effect as every shot went in.
-Every jumper is a clean swish. Hope they change this next year. It would be good to see an occassional jumper rattle in or spin around the rim or even spin out.
-There seemed to be clipping after Kobe's dunk because the ball warped into a GS player's hands.

Everything's GREAT

EXCEPT the player collision. Its what hurting Madden 09 as well. great animations players make great transitions alone but when players HIT each other or bump against each other there is stutter.

The sound in this video is phenomenal.

I like how big the court looked in relation to the players, I'm a 2k fan but the court seems too small usually.

I don't like the graphics though, not that they are bad but 2k and Live both have different approaches and I just happen to prefer the style that 2k has.

I've seen a shot hitting the rim before getting inside. I don't remember the video. I think it was on a video with the Heat (probably Beasley making the shot)

Great feedback so far.

Just so you know, there are shots that hit the rim

Maybe this is not the thread to ask you stephen, but you've been very active here, so:

Is there any one handed pass in the game?

I don't know how to explain (my english is bad as hell ). Let's figure out. My PG is dribbling the ball with his right hand in the middle of the court. I want to pass the ball to a teammate in the right side of the court. Is there any animation where my PG passes the ball just with his right hand? Or will he catch the ball with both hands and pass it?

It's nothing, but i think it's very realistic, and more dynamic. The PG could pass the ball right after you press the button, instead of making the whole animation of catching the ball, bla bla bla...

Hope that you all understand, this is hard for me
