Madden 09 News Post

Many of our staff writers here at Operation Sports are anxiously awaiting the NFL season just like a lot of you are right now as well. To hopefully curb our anxiety, Matthew DiStaulo simulated the NFL season with Madden to see what the game says about which teams should be considered favorites to win the Super Bowl. Be sure to check out our Madden season simulation and add your thoughts on how realistic (or unrealistic) the game is with its results!

"Every year I pick up the new copy of Madden I always love simulating through the first season and seeing which players turn the corner into big time stars, teams that turn out to surprise everyone or those that under perform. Not that it necessarily holds true to life, but it is nice to see how the virtual world stacks up to the real world.

This article is going to break down the ’09 season showcasing all the major game changers, statistical leaders, injuries and victories. Will the Patriots go undefeated again? Who is going to be the next Adrian Peterson? Will Hester add to his career returns? We shall see."

First time I've seen a simmed season in which the Patriots did not lose the Superbowl. Nice to see hope for the 'Niners, even if it is purely digital.

I would love to see that come true as a Bucs fan. Winning the Super Bowl in Tampa. I think we've def got a playoff team (10-6 is what im figuring) and in the playoffs, anything can happen.

Very awesome, to see something totally different, but it was heart breaking to see my Boys not even make the playoffs!

The more I think about it the less it makes sense that Tuck did not receive defensive player of the year. In fact I have to go home later and check Cato June's stats compared to Tuck's and see if June had another statistic I possibly missed.

As far as your Boys ronny, it should instill a little fear in you that by chance Romo does go out for a long chunk of time. T.O. can only do so much without a good QB under center.

Over 100 tackles for a DE. Wow. Great article though

that was kinda crazy lol, but my only issue with the sim stats is the TFL and too many QB's completing 70% percent of their passes. granted they were all elite QB's but still....

I know KG said "Anything is Posssibbbbleeee" but the Bucs w/Jeff Garcia going to the bowl? Maybe a cereal bowl. The Bucs need the 2000 Ravens defense for Garcia to make a super bowl.

And every year we hear about the 49ers making the playoffs, as long as #1 bust pick Alex Smith isn't starting, they have a chance.

I would like to simulate NFL games using my Madden PC game. I am wondering what setting shall i use for the quarter times? 5 minutes seems too short (all low scores), 15 minutes seems too long (all high scores). I am trying to figure out what quarter times will give me the most accurate end results. Any help you can give me is appreciated. Im trying to find a setting that will give me the most realistic scores at the end of the games. Have a nice day.

I'm simmed a few seasons when i first got the game to check out progression and what not and guess who the 1st year MVP was?!?

JEFF GARCIA - hahahaha yeah right. Not a bad QB but MVP? That made me laugh

As soon as I saw Chad had 1000 yds in 6 games I have to call the game out. Chad usually hits that mark in week 8 or 9, and is usually on the shelf by the 12th week...

As an aside, it seems like the Jets got shafted as far as their ratings go...

Payton did get the MVP, but the four teams left for the championship series did not make the cut.
