IGN has posted their hands-on preview of NBA 2K9.

Quote:
"On the court you'll notice tighter animations and an even greater sense of control. The breadth of moves has been expanded quite a bit with several new dunks and layups on display in our game between the Knicks and Celtics. There's now something called Reel Maker which compiles a short list of replays and cuts them together into a pseudo-montage, cut together with music playing in the background. Because of that, the frequency of Action Replays has been scaled back considerably."

In either case, I'm glad it's in the game.

I was thinking the same thing, thats impressive that you can already anticipate (or add after suggestions) exactly what your fanbase was asking for.

Nice graphics, Boozer doesn't look quite like himself but is a huge improvement over last year's face

I hope they have more headbands. Pierce's looks like an old one, and they've only had one option for so long. I was playing NBA Live 2005 the other day, and I noticed how many more choices they had for headband patterns and colors, and it was unbelievable. They did it for socks, shoes, and goggles, too.

A little off topic, but anyway... Everything looks great, and you gotta love the player models. I'm still wondering about the online feature that will blow us all away, but we'll see.

And THANK YOU for leaking the new Hornets jerseys. Live leaked the new Timberwolves jerseys, and the new T'Wolves and Kings jerseys showed up on Getty Images. But no one had leaked the Hornets jerseys yet, and I'd like to thank 2K Sports for that. They look tremendous, by the way (in the game and probably what they'll look like in real life).

Yeah knew of the other teams new jerseys, but nothing about a Hornets new home strip..Im debating if its an actual new one or the throwback from the charlotte days baron and co used to wear

I don't know about you, but I am incredibly impressed with the screens, since 2K has been the one that always messes up the faces, and these screens show otherwise.

Ah, this game is going to be great. So excited for it.

As much as I am interested in NBA Live 09 new features, I know I can always count on 2K to give me the goods. October can't come soon enough.

The textures do look great but the logos and #'s are stiched in so they wouldn't have those holes in them

I wonder if this push/pull defense feature will replace the lock on D? It sounds kind of cool, hope its implemented for offline play also. The 5 0n 5 online feature sounds, great, but I want more news about the offline gameplay, features, and impressions.

No, it won't replace lock on D...Thats still in the game. Just refined.

GO USA!! Any word when ChaseB is gonna be on here aswering questions about 2k9?

Well it looks like we will finally get off the ball fouls in the game now that players will be pulling, holding, and grabbing jerseys. I wonder if this is tied to if you select to have the defense set to tight d in the coach settings on specific defenders when playing against the CPU or a friend, and if they are too agressive the ref will call a foul on you.

I think it's a new one. They have their new secondary "Fleur de Bee" logo on the shorts (New Orleans exclusive from last year), and on the chest is a re-done "New Orleans" script that's supposedly in their new primary logo (it's pretty much the same logo but with the new font).

5-5 online sounds great but its going to be interesting when all five members want to be Kobe and nobody else. And I wonder how they will handle substitutions and other similar facets. It's going to be interesting but if it works how great will that be. Can't wait.

some franchise info would be great. I haven't heard a peep about it.

god knows the best thing in 2k9 this year better be the franchise im a straight up hardcore player i need all the little things in the franchise like real team practices at least once a week cant wait to see new assoc. improvements!!..!!

If five on five is done right, its going to be epic.

However, playing people from OS will be key, as the chances of randomly finding 9 other guys that dont cheese will be like trying to pull matter out of a blackhole.

That'd be a real step into the future of online sports right there.
That would be incredible granted everyone knew their roles.

One thing I love about 2K. When they drop a new game I know the old features that are still left in will not only work, but will get polished.

I can't wait.
