i dont really like the new jersey cloth, or however you wanna call it. its sorta a mix of Sony's NBA 08/09 with NBA 2K8/9. i'd say about 75% nba 08/09 and 15% nba 2k8/9.
but the game looks great apart from that, the crowed is great, getting loud when kobe got fouled and went to the line

If you guys have no complaints on the herky jerky animations that still preside from those videos. You must be a blind fanboy>.

Did I just see the NBA2k pick and roll lead pass?

Also does anyone know exactly how the screens work? Looks like there 's some kind of meter that comes up, and the defender has to fill up that meter before he can beat the pick. Looks a little exploitable, since the defender gets stuck in an animation for a significant amount of time.

Yeah it still does have some herky jerky animations but it definitely doesn't look as bad as last year. I knew going into this year not everything would be fixed but what they have fixed looks great to me and I can't wait to play it myself.

Here's some info from IGN on the pick and roll:

You'll also need to take advantage of some of the other features of the game, such as the redesigned Pick and Roll Control for ball handlers, which allows players to instantly call for and set two-man plays.

Instead of having to specifically run a play to manipulate a ball handler and a screener on the court to exploit the defense, players can quickly pull the left trigger to immediately call over the nearest player to the ball handler. This move will place a basketball icon over the screener's head, and provide one of three options for players. If you want the screener to immediately slip away from the screen and cut towards the basket before the screen has happened, you release the trigger early. If you want them to roll towards the basket after the screen, you fill the icon half way. If you'd rather that they pop out for a shot after the screen, you fill the icon fully. This provides a lot of flexibility on the offensive side of the ball, as you can quickly and efficiently dish the ball to players and get around defenders.

I don't know how exploitable it is and I don't think we will find out until the demo comes but I hope this helps.

Oh ok, that sounds cool. I like that all of Live's best new features benefit strategy on the court.

Competition is heating up.

Yeah that's one of the reasons why I think live is going to be solid game this year they added in features that would make the game more sim. Instead of adding in stupid ones that would make the game more arcade like.

It looks... better than last year. but blocks still look horrible, and had some horrible jerky animations.

I like the atmosphere though.

Couple of things

Regarding the jerky animations, its a catch 22. While the animations have to be noted that they are alot smoother and looks more controllable than last year which is terrific, you're going to have some jerky looking animations as well simply because of the foot planting technology.

Even 2k admitted last year they left some sliding in to make the games animations seem a bit smoother. There is a plus and minus to both...

Good thing about it is, the animations so far seem to transition together very well which is a positive, so I can deal with some of that, although its going to take a little bit of getting used to.

Im pretty encouraged by the work that EA has put into the game from what we've seen so far. I notice that everyone doesnt do the same exact bend the knees ft routine, noted by D Fish's own sig FT.. and the dunks that I saw look pretty good as well, not popping off the floor for a 34 inch vertical flush.

I don't consider this a cheese job by any means, oh and come on guys, all companies show the games on the easiest levels to show the game off... we know this year after year

LOL DRE 2k mustve did something to you man....you been positive in every Live thread and the opposite in every 2k thread....guess your tired of the marketing like everyone else....

Anyway, on that note, I cant wait fo this demo to see if the videos did this game any justice....I will be buying the better game!
