Wil McCombs checks in today with an article that follows up on last week's article that took a look at how to dominate the computer. McCombs writes this week on how to dominate your human opponents this year in NCAA Football 09.

"Only a handful of days remain until midnight, July 15th, 2008, the collective Christmas Morning for fans of EA Sports' NCAA Football series. If you are anything like me, you have spent the past few weeks bouncing between NCAA '08 and the NCAA '09 demo, putting a fine coat of polish on your stick skills. Most likely, they have accumulated a thin layer of rust since being forced into hibernation in the early months of 2008."

Outstanding read, Wil. That's the most comprehensive guide I've seen in quite some time. It's obvious you've spent alot of time in human-to-human play. Great advice on all levels!!

Most important strategy to success: Always play manual and go for user plays, never rely on the CPU to make the catch, tip the pass, make the pick, or make the tackle. Not only can you make plays that the CPU can't always perform, you get the personal satisfaction of knowing your own skill made the difference.

Great article although I do disagree with the last part.

I have ALWAYS played as the Defensive Tackle and usually, I am pretty damn good on D. If you get good at controlling D tackles, you can really frustrate an offense because of your penetration right at the heart of the line of scrimmage. This will disrupt just about any run play and can really cause QBs to panic when a good Defensive tackle comes busting through the line. This is especially effective when you have a dominant defensive tackle like a Glenn Dorsey. That's why I'm salivating at using Sen'Derrick Marks (95 overall, 88 acceleration) with Auburn.

Great read. I'm a top ranked player online and I strongly agree with checking your emotion at the door.
