OOTP 9 News Post

Carlos Hernandez checks in today with a look at a controversial topic among Out of the Park Baseball diehard fans, head-to-head. Check out Carlos' take on the topic in his article, Why OOTP Baseball Needs Head to Head.

Quote:
"Let's get this out in the open: Out of the Park Baseball needs head-to-head. Every year, the popular game has added and enhanced new and existing features. Yet, even while it brought back detailed scouting reports, improved its stat-simulation by relying on DIPS, and included pitch-by-pitch mode over the years, the one big omission has been head-to-head."

If you haven't tried www.Simyard.com, you should. I only wish OOTP was more like SimYard. There's absolutely no reason why OOTP can't cater to both crowds. i.e. the sim crowd and the head to head crowd.

That's the game that you train your players during the off-season to prepare for the new season.

I once installed it but lost interest. It is a great idea. I just didn't give it enough time or didn't have enough time to mix it in.

I'll have to give it another shot.

I obviously agree that OOTP should do something similar. I'm not even sure how much different it would be from how the game is setup right now. The only major thing OOTP would need to do is make Spring Training more in-depth. It should be more than just the game. Hmmm...that might be another article right there. Making Spring Training more interesting in baseball video games. Doing it.

Head to head is necessary and long overdue. No doubt about that.
