We have just posted a pretty in depth Madden 09 Comparison Video. The video focuses on areas of the game that have been improved since Madden 08 such as environments, weather effects and player models.
So im supposed to be excited that now it will actually loko like it's 4:15 ?
The models look like last years version, except for the fact that the jerseys look tighter. The snow is cool but thats it ?
Before you start telling me off answer this, Does it look next-gen ?
MLB the Show is next gen
NBA 2k8 is next gen
Madden 09 is not
explain to me the GIGANTIC difference between both bush shots ?
with the proper lighting you can make the biggest piece of crap look better so lighting shouldnt be the only thing
Wow, the differences are huge IMO. This could be the biggest one year leap ever for Madden I think.
For Madden, I don't think it is even a question, this is the biggest one year leap I have seen for the game. Player Models look better, animations have taken a very nice step forward from what we have seen thus far, there is presentation in the game now, people hate on the Rewind feature but I actually like it, but again I'm not going to be using it in the way they market it; I'm sure there will be some things that will need tuning, refining and extending, but the game is starting to shape up.
Myself...I always liked the graphics of the '08' game. But seeing how '09' will look is IMO, a very nice jump forward. I think '09' looks far more realistic. The more I see of '09' the better things get.
How does 2K8 look more next gen then this. The lighting in the Merriman, Hutch and Bush shots were awesome. NBA 2K8 is not s trong graphic game. Heck its behind NBA Live as far as graphics (when no one is moving) animations wise it slaughters live. MAdden now is the best looking sports game on next gen above the show
How it looks when the game is in motion is the most important aspect of the graphics imo. If they called Live "NBA still shots 08" I would give them the graphics edge. If live had as much going on on and off the court as 2k and still looked like it does, then I would be impressed.
With that said I am looking forward to both Madden and nCAA for the first time in years as they both look improved from past iterations. I have not purchased a Madden title since PS2's first version, but I have rented everything after that. Wasn't impressed. I'm a 2k fan and I'm glad EA finally worked on the presentation in Madden. I may finally throw down full price.........

Maybe not excited, but what about appreciative? Happy? Glad? Relieved?

Even though I think the models are a lot better than€ last year, even if all thats done is the jersey's are tighter, doesn't that make the model look just slightly better?

Ok, this question I have no idea how to answer or exactly what type of answer you are looking for or what expectations you have of snow.

Wonderful!! WooooWhoooooo! Now back to real life. Per my post in another thread (below), yes the player models have changed and the atmosphere, but the bottom-like gameplay seems to have not changed.
"seems" is the key word here. Its too early to tell how much of an improvement if any the gameplay has made.
Lets take NCAA for example. The early videos and clips suggested that it was much of the same as last year. Now, we've seen a guy at IGN(who's terrible) play an entire game, albeit 5 minute quarters and have noticed a huge difference between this gameplay video vs the early videos/clips that we saw.
Time of day was clearly 2 different times of day and different views......
Grass looks great.
Player models; if the grass wasnt different in the background I couldnt have told them apart.

Exactly, well put CB. I, for one, am very optimistic about Madden though.
