It looked pretty decent. There seems to be a more "organic" vibe going on with the the way the animations work. Also the sack on Perilloux in the first video didn't look hokey compared to previous years' animation. It seems like the dropback animation has been improved somewhat, if only the user understood how to play football it might have been better demonstrated.

Why can't we get better sequences or maybe a short cutscene for injuries? It looks so stupid with the player just writhing around stiffly on the ground as everyone vacates the area.

Also, presentation is still hugely lacking.

Wow? I really need to see this game on my 50' plasma but is it just me or does that look & play exactly like last gen with better field textures & stadiums? QB sliding all over the field & dropping back 20 plus yards? I did see some nice animations but it seems to me they are using last gens gameplay with a huge graphics boost. Can really tell because the cut scenes are not close ups but that looks just like NCAA 2007 on playstation. I just dont know what to think...

I'm with you 1oo%, They do have that team celebration feature this year though, so I've already concluded that I will be using that one for 99 percent of my Tuds

on the FSU TD, if the user would have press "Y" on the controller, the "Team Animation Available" option would have been activated and he wouldn't have celebrated alone.

on a side note, i like those black FSU jerseys. i only hope TTU's black jerseys are in the game too.

i guarantee you techs all blacks will be in...did you watch the video interview? the EA GUY gives tech a shoutout!!! they will probably be ranked in the top 15, and may be in the top 25 toughest places to play...at least they should be...we'll just have to ask pasta padre early in the morning!!! guns up!! we need to get some mp3's made of the band playin so we can add them to our custom soundtracks

I like what I see for the most part. If the INTs are toned down a great degree, as reported earlier and hopefully confirmed by the members who participated in EA's Community Day, I will be a happy camper. It does look much more fun that the last two years. The lightning is absolutely awesome this year.

I think the on-line dynasty thing may be a blast if it functions properly and you have dedicated guys to participate.

Those all-blacks for FSU were nice and I'm a Gator fan.

The crowd definitely seems better.

I noticed the dive over the goalline looks much more realistic. Similar to the overused "reach the ball out over the goalline dive" nowadays.

Hoping those post play framerate issues were just the video or just my computer, because it happened WAY too frequently.

ok.....not sure how you can make that conclusion from the limited videos we've seen and the scarce hands-on previews, but to each his own.

And I couldn't agree more. If the game releases with the 25 second play clock, that would not only be unacceptable, it would be embarrassing.
Last year's game didn't have the new rules either.

The 40-second playclock isn't something we'd want in the game IMO. Gamers who have the lead would milk the playclock for 30+ seconds at a time and people would get pissed. While not realistic, it is for the best IMO.

The "Team Celebration" is a celebration specific to the school. IE: Central Florida player spelling out "U-C-F" with his arms, etc. I'm sure this would include "Hook 'em Horns", etc.

Talking with Dave from psu.com, we're pretty sure this is from an earlier build than what we played last week in NYC, FWIW. I'm not as impressed with these clips as I was with the game last week.

Minor point, but when did Cal add stripes to their helmets and pants? Is that something new?

I seriously don't see much difference between this and '08. Just more cheerleader cut scenes.

You must not have played it very much, the gameplay speed in these clips makes 08 look like it was running in quicksand.

I did like seeing corners take an inside leverage on the WR, finally some inside outside shade technique. As far as a pocket, if you 5-7 step drop a decent pocket usually forms, as long as we can slide protect it will be great. the reason for the 40 second clock is to attain consistency among officials. Some officials wait for everything to be perfect as far as chains, official alignments, ball spot, etc before starting the 25 second clock, sometimes 15 or so seconds would go by before the 25 sec clock started, some officials would blow it started immediately when the ball was spotted. This really can trouble coaches and players. The 40 second clock will now start as soon as the last play ends, so now the coaches can expect a little more consistency. I believe it was voted on by all head coaches and athletic directors in college. I know here in Texas at the HS level we follow NCAA rules and our head coaches got a memo to vote on the idea of going to a 40 second play clock. We will see if this is approved.

I think this IGN clip just let the cat out of the bag.

All I took away from that was the fact that I love the FSU all blacks. This year they are supposed to waer a black helmet as well I think.

I played it more than most people on here. Just ask AA. Yeah this game seems faster but just not much different. To me faster doesn't mean better.

This game really looks boring again this year. It just does not 'seem' to give you a true college football feel IMO.

Also, this franchise has not been good enough to just have marginal improvements from year to year. I keep expecting this HUGE jump from the previous release but, it just does not happen.

I mean, the game just looks, sounds, and animates too much like 08 when watching these vids.

I only buy NCAA to keep me busy until Madden comes out but, I may seriously bypass this game and wait that extra month to get a EA football game this year.

BTW, I have offically given up on expecting a QB pocket in EITHER game this year. It's definately not going to happen in 09.

By the looks of the vids that have been released the OL/DL interaction has not changed much.

The running animation looks MUCH improved. 08 was the worst "moving" NCAA game ever made. These videos look night and day. Not perfect, but way ahead of 08.
