Madden 09 News Post

GameStop has posted week 3 of their ongoing Madden Mondays feature. This one entitled, Options on Demand.

Quote:
"Realistic action, graphics and presentation are a big draw for Madden NFL games, but having to hit the "pause" button several times a play can slow down the action, which detracts a bit from the realism. In their efforts to keep the action moving at an NFL pace, EA SPORTS has given us an exclusive peek at another new feature for Madden NFL 09: the Options OnDemand Picture-in-Picture Play-call Window."

I also would like to see ALL of the Revolution style helmets there are in the game.

why don't they have button specific plays, this has been a complaint since 06. When playing against a friend, they see what play your choosing! why not add a x play a play b play y play LB play. etc...

I mean come one!

I'm sure the other buttons will be reserved for something like player specific packages and such.

*sigh*

If it's like last year, you will be able to bluff your play. You pick the play you want, and as long as you hold the button down you can continue to move the cursor around in order to confuse the other guy. When you release the button, the play called will be the one you were on when you first pushed the button.

This is a better system than what you described because it makes for more uncertainty. If done properly your opponent has no way to know which play you have called.

I thought I saw somewhere where they said an enhancement this year is different windows will be mapped to the face buttons - maybe it's only in two player. But I agree w/you wholeheartedly; that they evolved the 2-player game so much last gen then pretty much threw a lot of those advances away next gen in favor of a prettier but far less practical interface was head scratching to say the least

I also think there is an option to bluff playart so you can show multiple routes and such when at the line.
