Week 4 got simmed, because I have a life and my opponent was in Australia and lost power due to the flooding (google it). It was simmed as I was playing so all those Aaron Scott and Jimmy Clausen yards go down the tube. I won 21-12 I believe.

Week 5 and the undefeated Lions. I started with the ball, drove and then punted. Allowed a drive by the Lions but caught a break when Stafford threw a pick deep in my zone. Another drive by me, this one ends with a field goal as the 1st quarter ... Read More

Didn't get to play, my opponent is in Australia and due to the flooding lost internet. So I was waiting to play to see if he'd get internet, but my Wednesday is full of school and then real life soccer/bar. I get home start the game, lose connection to EA replay the game and he advanced WHILE I WAS PLAYING THE DAMN GAME. I still won, but seriously, an advance while I'm playing. Who does that? Venting here instead of email. Although I may still vent in email. So mad.

Well the bye week doldrums got to me. First I proposed to the league that I was interested in trading Colston for a top rated safety. With Tanard Jackson being the best response I got, I dwelled what to do. Then Sunday night, as the Jets were getting stuffed at the goalline, the Redskins owner let it be known that Kris Jenkins and London Fletcher were available and they were interested in a WR or RB. I proposed Stewart for Fletcher, she countered with Jenkins, Fletcher and Portis for Colston, ... Read More

Coming off the opening loss to ATL, a win against the Colts was a must. The first game got MADDENED (dropped) at 14-14 late in the first half.

The re-start began with a drive by the Panthers to take a 7-0 lead on a Clausen to Moss 8 yard pass. The 2nd quarter opened with a 22 yard pass from Sam Bradford to Pierre Garcon, with the Panthers answering with a near minute drive capped off by Ahmad Bradshaw getting his first touchdown of the year, making the score 14-7. I was able to ... Read More

Week one opened with a game against the Falcons, the team that single handedly knocked me out of the playoffs last year with two defeats in the last four games. I decided to play safeties at OLB and move Beason to DE to help with pass rushing. Unfortunately, it didn't work as I wasn't able to get any sacks and I think I only stopped him, forced a punt once.

First drive of the game, I get into the redzone but on third and one tried a fade to Moss that went incomplete and kicked a field ... Read More

I'm playing in an online Madden League, it's a 4thstring league, brought to you by the guys behind the 4thstring podcast, who are the guys behind the Sports Game Guy podcast from 1up that got canceled eventually. 4thstring.com is their website. We're using League Manager because of the half assed version of Madden Franchise that is online, which allows us to set a salary cap which causes trades to get under the cap and draft pick trading.

I'm the Carolina Panthers, but a barely recognizable ... Read More

Pat Summerall is terrible. Everyone remembers the glory days of Madden and of CBS and FOX when Summerall and Madden were THE commentators. Sadly the time has not been kind to either of them, but at least Madden can hide behind Horrib-Al. Pat called the Cotton Bowl today, hopefully they put Pat out of my misery like they did with the stadium today. He was asking questions during plays, "What formation is that?" when Ole Miss motioned their punter to WR and faked a punt to the up back. He rarely ... Read More

When the first professional football team you can remember rooting for goes 0 and 16 you would think it would be the worst sports related moment of your life. Not this guy ((that is well represented by Fredo(BC) beating Notre Dame)) I stopped caring about the Lions 3 or 4 years ago. I appreciate what Barry Sanders meant for me when I was growing up, but when Joey Harrington is making fun of an organization you realize it's time and has been time for awhile (Joey referenced being here for the hey ... Thanks to the Lions ultimate suckitude I got to watch Packers and Texans today. Why is that awesome? No, I don't have any fantasy players in this game, (I traded Donald Driver and Steve Slaton weeks ago) it's awesome because Gus Johnson is calling the game. He is the most easily excitable announcer and just a joy to listen to. After the disgrace that was Joe Buck on the David Tyree Super Bowl catch, Gus Johnson is music to my ears. I even watched that ****ty MMA on CBS because of Gus.
