Pat Summerall is terrible. Everyone remembers the glory days of Madden and of CBS and FOX when Summerall and Madden were THE commentators. Sadly the time has not been kind to either of them, but at least Madden can hide behind Horrib-Al. Pat called the Cotton Bowl today, hopefully they put Pat out of my misery like they did with the stadium today. He was asking questions during plays, "What formation is that?" when Ole Miss motioned their punter to WR and faked a punt to the up back. He rarely knew what was going on and would say the wrong player name consistently. I would have rather listened to Madden Summerall, with a guy pressing buttons to have Pat say the appropriate phrase. It might have led a lot of "Number 23 with the carry" but at least I can laugh at that.

He still has a great voice though. I remember thinking the same thing about Keith Jackson in his final years. I still remember him doing the play-by-play and he said it was incomplete. Instead it was an INT and the viewers are watching this guy return the pick while Keith is trying to adjust his glasses to see what the hell was going on.
