Week one opened with a game against the Falcons, the team that single handedly knocked me out of the playoffs last year with two defeats in the last four games. I decided to play safeties at OLB and move Beason to DE to help with pass rushing. Unfortunately, it didn't work as I wasn't able to get any sacks and I think I only stopped him, forced a punt once.

First drive of the game, I get into the redzone but on third and one tried a fade to Moss that went incomplete and kicked a field goal. Falcons drive and score a touchdown. Next possession hit Colston for a TD and my final lead of the game. Falcons score again. I drive into the redzone again, save a timeout and aim for the endzone. Unfortunately Clausen gets sacked twice, which limits me to a field goal as the half expires. ATL scores to open the 2nd half. I get the ball try a screen, he's controlling the LE, I thought he was sucked in but he wasn't USER PICK. ATL scores again and is up 28-13. My next drive stalls out at midfield, punt downed inside the 5. ATL drives to kick a field goal. Down 31-13 get another TD to cut the lead to 11. Onside kick recovered by ATL, get a stop they punt inside the 5. Bomb to rookie Aaron Scoot is caught, then a TD to Marques Colston. Two pointer is no good, but it doesn't matter because the next onside kick is recovered by ATL and game ends with ATL winning 31-26.

The pick that became 6 was the only turnover of the game and a true turning point. Hopefully it doesn't cost the Panthers as the season goes.

Indianapolis up next. They traded Manning away so it's Clausen vs. Bradshaw. Draft buddies who played last year with the Panthers beating the Rams.
