I'm playing in an online Madden League, it's a 4thstring league, brought to you by the guys behind the 4thstring podcast, who are the guys behind the Sports Game Guy podcast from 1up that got canceled eventually. 4thstring.com is their website. We're using League Manager because of the half assed version of Madden Franchise that is online, which allows us to set a salary cap which causes trades to get under the cap and draft pick trading.
I'm the Carolina Panthers, but a barely recognizable version of them. Anyway it's my bye week in season two (week 3) so I'll go over the off-season and the first two weeks and then update after every game, I guess. I ended up 8-8 in year one, after starting 0-6. With Deangelo Williams and Jonathon Stewart both making similar amounts of "points" one of them had to go and I was looking for a WR to help Steve Smith out. I sent a trade offer to the division rival Aints and got Marques Colston, Lance Moore for Deangelo and Brandon Lafell. Then I traded LB Thomas Davis for TE Chris Cooley. Then the big trade, Steve Smith, Lance Moore, Ronde Barber and Richard Marshall (2WR 2CB) for Dwayne Bowe, Dexter McCluster, Javier Arenas and Brandon Marshall (2 WR, 2 CB). Then I made trades to bring in Domers, Otah (T), Duke Robinson (G) and Sherrod Martin (FS) to the Broncos for Ryan Harris, Eric Olsen and David Bruton as well as Stevie Johnson for Maurice Stovall. Right before Free Agency, the Patriots had to get under the cap and I jumped at the opportunity to bring Randy Moss to Carolina. Moss and Igor Olshansky for Dwayne Bowe and Everette Brown. In the first round of the draft I took an 6'3, 82 WR with 94 spd. We did a email draft of the 1st 3 rounds but I traded my 2nd and 3rd round picks because it was taking forever.
On to Free Agency. I had the 2nd or 3rd most space available and used almost all of it. Picking up TE David Thomas, WR's Stefan Logan and Brandon Banks to return kicks, Rasean Jefferson a 49 MLB but with 90 speed so he's starting. Jason Taylor to play DE and Ahmad Bradshaw because I need to have an extra running back for no reason.
I lied, I'll do week one and two summaries later. This is a lot of ****. I'll list my depth chart here though.
QB - Clausen, Jamarcus, Volek
RB - Bradshaw, Stewart, Julius Jones, Mike Goodson, Zach Lewis*
WR - Moss, Colston, Aaron Scott*, Dexter McCluster, Goodson, Logan

Generally running a 4-3 but experimenting with a 3-4.
RE - Charles Johnson, Eric Norwood
LE - Jason Taylor, Eric Norwood
DT - Igor Olshansky, Kyle Van den Bosch, Ed Johnson, Louis Leonard
ROLB - Jon Beason, Josh Mauga, Tim Shaw
MLB - Rasean Jefferson*, Dan Connor, Mauga
LOLB - Mauga, Connor, Beason
