Devils sign eight players as free agency ends

While the New Jersey Devils may not have gotten every player they chased after in the free agency window, they did manage to sign both NHL ready players and some more prospects to add to their pool in Albany.

While Marty St. Louis rejected New Jersey in favor of Winnipeg, Kevin Gravel in favor of Calgary, Cody Franson in favor of San Jose, and Brenden Burke in favor of Philadelphia, as well as a late offer for Joel Ward who turned down New Jersey for Florida, the Devils did manage to sign veteran "Mister Game 7" Justin Williams as well as previous signing Victor Olofsson. Also joining the Devils is NHL defender Corey Potter, previously of the Edmonton Oilers. Here is a rundown of the Devils' free agency acquisitions:

Justin Williams - 33 yrs old, 2 years 4.750M
Axel Holmstrom - 19 yrs old, 1 year 0.575M
Dryden Hunt - 19 yrs old, 3 year 0.550M
Mathias Karlsson - 20 yrs old, 3 year 0.550M
Roberts Lipsbergs - 21 yrs old, 3 year 0.550M
Victor Olofsson - 20 yrs old, 2 year 0.575M
Corey Potter - 31 yrs old, 1 year 0.900M
Ken Appleby - 20 yrs old, 3 year 0.550M
