LOS ANGELES-Kobe Bryant was unable to will his Lakers to victory in the first two games of their series with the Nuggets. Game 3 was a different story.

Bryant scored 31 points for Los Angeles, helping them rebound from an early deficit, but the Lakers needed a missed Danilo Gallinari three-pointer with only seconds remaining to top the Nuggets 100-99 in Game 3.

Bryant's 31 led the Lakers, who used a 10-point swing over the middle two quarters to take a 75-70 lead at the start of the fourth quarter.

Gallinari led the charge back for the Nuggets, scoring 12 of his 26 points in the fourth quarter. Denver briefly took a 95-94 lead after Gallinari hit a layup with 1:33 remaining, only for Pau Gasol to knock down a three-pointer on Los Angeles's next possession to make it 97-95.

Baskets by Wilson Chandler and Andre Iguodala put the Nuggets up 99-97, but Bryant hit his only three-pointer of the night with 11 seconds left to put the Lakers up 100-99. Gallinari was able to get open with just a few seconds remaining, but his three-point attempt hit front iron and missed, sealing Los Angeles's win.

Chandler and Iguodala each finished with 12 points, while Ty Lawson tallied 14 points and nine assists. Jordan Hamilton also scored a playoff career-high 17 points off the bench for the Nuggets.

Dwight Howard collected a double-double in the win, tallying 12 points and 11 rebounds, while Gasol just missed one with 15 points and nine rebounds. Steve Nash tallied 18 points and six assists for Los Angeles as well.
