DALLAS�Led by 20 points from Kevin Love, the Minnesota Timberwolves used a late fourth quarter scoring run to outlast O.J. Mayo and the Dallas Mavericks in the opening game of their first round playoff series, 92-82.

Love scored six of his 20 points during a 12-4 fourth quarter run after Dallas had cut Minnesota's six-point lead down to two points, putting Dallas away for good. Brandon Roy chipped in 15 points and center Nikola Pekovic added 14 points and five rebounds for Minnesota in the win.

Mayo's 22 points led Dallas, followed by a double-double from Darren Collison: 15 points and 10 assists, his first in the NBA Playoffs. Vince Carter added 11 points and five rebounds in the losing effort.

Minnesota small forward Andrei Kirilenko marked his return to the NBA Playoffs after a three-year absence, scoring 11 points and pulling down six rebounds in the win.
