Game Notes
Quite possibly the most balanced matchup in the first round, Indiana and Chicago finished tied atop the Central Division (although Indiana won the tiebreaker to earn the higher seed). Chicago will need Derrick Rose and Luol Deng to score in bunches to hope topping Paul George and the Pacers, as the low post game for both teams is likely to be shut down by Roy Hibbert and Joakim Noah's defensive prowess. Chicago may prefer to shift defensive assignments to try and stop the mismatch George poses, moving Deng to cover George over Kirk Hinrich, but that still leaves a resurgent Danny Granger able to play another mismatch for Indiana. If George and Granger continue their strong play this year, Chicago may not advance for the second straight year.
