Game Notes
If Utah wants to play the role of the upset special in their first round matchup against the Clippers, they're going to need second-year swingman Alec Burks to carry his stellar play into the playoffs. Filling in for the injured Randy Foye, Burks has averaged over 20 points a game for the Jazz over the final month, combining with Mo Williams to form a lethal frontcourt to complement Utah's elite backcourt of Paul Millsap and All Star Al Jefferson. While Los Angeles has plenty of prolific scorers to challenge Utah-the Chris Paul/Blake Griffin combo is likely to cause the Jazz defense fits-this series will likely come down to two specific matchups: how Paul does against Williams and how Jefferson does against Clippers All-Defensive center DeAndre Jordan.
