30 Team Association: Bobcats, Trail Blazers swap Diop, Jeffries

CHARLOTTE-Two of the NBA's worst teams agreed to swap centers in a minor deal today, one of just a handful of trades in the NBA this season.
The Charlotte Bobcats announced they would send center DeSagana Diop to the Portland Trail Blazers for center Jared Jeffries in what amounts to a salary dump for both teams.
Diop played 38 games for the Bobcats before the trade, mostly in mopup duty. Diop, in the final year of $32 million contract he signed with the Mavericks after the 2008 season, averaged less than a point a game for Charlotte.
Jeffries, signed to a three-year deal by Portland in the offseason, hasn't played in a game all season long. That streak looks to persist in Charlotte, with Brendan Haywood and Byron Mullens manning the Bobcats frontcourt.
