Madden 12: my feeling of top 3 bottom 3
Posted on September 6, 2011 at 02:07 AM.
Features I feel so far that have really hit home for me and the three that I feel have really hit the wrong nerve. 3 for 3 to keep it even and fair right?

+ cut days - this feature with the larger rosters for preseason is awesome. i like the way we don't know the attributes of the players when we get them. preseason seems to matter a bit now. practice does too! scouting does as well. in years previous you would sign them look at their attributes and then cut them if they sucked without even playing them. Now i feel a bit more for each player and getting to know how they are before they obtain the axe or praise! nice work EA!

+ Broadcast/NFL Films cameras - seeing the games in a more NFL films way along with actual angle of broadcasts from stadiums are awesome. getting a touchdown with the camera shaking a bit, great move! feels awesome! Wise move and well implemented.

+ Player animation of emotion!! Players smile when they do well! it is awesome to see Doland Driver Smile when he gets his first down! i feel like that really is Donald Driver, though i don't know that I want to see Tom Brady smile, because he never does. Great work on capturing a bit more emotion from the players in a way i feel is realistic and fun!

- no extra point! the extra point show form madden 10 and 11 was awesome. it added a lot to the presentation of Madden and they cut it this year. i feel this removal again of a feature of madden that was appreciated disappears in the dust without word or reason. the franchise mode suffers greatly now for me in this. history of broadcast mode is 50% in this extra points. shame it is gone. will they bring it back next year? shall i dare hope knowing EA?

- import of NCAA Football Draft Classes don't work - every year it is a feature i look for in NCAA Football and Madden. Though now not even advertised, i feel it is assumed to be there. sadly though it is 'there' to export in NCAA the import in madden is not working as intended. the players are 'imported 100%' yet it doesn't work. so what went wrong? is it the export form NCAA or import of Madden? I don't know but this is why i buy these games at a 1/3 of the reason. big screw up. will this be fixed? do i bet on it? only if i don't bet anything and am ok with them never doing anything which is possible too or worse saying as i have heard in the past 'we have to start working on next years game sorry'.

- commentary unfinished and audio errors - though i have heard and read that Madden 13 is about the commentary, i would expect then this year could be as good at least as last years madden 11. nope. this year suffers HUGE. the commentary is horrible. it isn't that Chris Collensworth is bad with Gus it is that EA makes them seem like idiots because the commentary is so bad. In the demo release of the game they said' we didn't want to release the demo with the commentary because of size". this could be true. but only half. the commentary is so badly implemented in the game half the time it is behind and broke. it also now and then spits LOUD CRACKS from my ps3 and spikes my speakers. if my speakers break because of this game. then i will not be buying madden int he future. sad part. you know they won't' fix this. this speaks to the way EA handles its features in games. work on them as far as you get them and release them 'as is' there is not 'tidy it up'. just 'get it to work'. I would prefer that they pull the commentary or use last years setup for commentary rather then ruin my experience because they half waged this common feature. yes common. sad they don't care how they feel Chris Collonsworth and Gus Johnson sound or feel. Its not like their careers are affected by it. How would you it if someone made you sound like crap?!

there is my 3 for 3

No Extra point and terrible commentary. The Extra point made the game feel more like a broadcast. All though Alex Flannigan and the other guy were very entertaining themselves it was still cool to see other scores and stats. With a commentator as good as Gus Johnson you would think the commentary would be great but year after year it's the same looped commentary real. I'm sick of hearing the same thing 3-4 times a game. Or the start of every game, "Here comes the quarterback, earlier in the week he said he wanted to get in a rhythmn earlier in the game".

alegron04 i am in agreement with you on that. I miss the extra point. why is it missing i wish i knew. The Commentary is simply horribly implemented. I feel For Gus Johnson, Chris Collensworth, Alex Flannigan and the NFL Network. if feels wrong because it is.
