Finally doing a MyCareer I have wanted to do for years

Been spending the last couple days toying with College Hoops 2K8: I have wanted to go back in time, and allow my younger self benefit from an older and wiser me.

I started by creating a recruit: Initially, I used my statistics from 6th through 8th grade. It was alright... not great... by my senior year I had fallen from a 3-star to a 2-star.

So, I next created a second Legacy file based on all my games between 6th and 12th grade. I immediately came out as a 5-star... guess I should not have included those church league games; I once got 20 rebounds in one of those just to prove to myself I could do it; cool, fun, but not the realism I sought.

I next created a file that included games between 6th and the start of 10th grade. I included a summer league for 9-15 year olds: Big age range, huh? It was a little ridiculous: The "Tarheel" team had all 9-year olds and only one 15-year old... I set a personal best 6 blocks versus that team. Of course, I included that season because I was finally able to experiment and apply everything I had learned about basketball to that point. I did not feel bad: I led my team to the champion game against a stacked "Wolfpack"; they had two future NBA draftees. Really. I am still proud that they only beat us by four... in overtime. But, I felt their presence made the league legitimate, so I included those stats.

College Hoops took over after creation and history repeated itself: I ended up signing with the Charlotte University 49ers. I was completely hands-off just simming with the UNC Tarheels to see where my player would go. Dean Smith at UNC was not interested in me at all. In reality, I was a walk-on for two months with Charlotte at the start of my sophomore year. I made the team, but eventually quit to be an intramural star; social life was more important to me then, and college basketball requires extreme discipline.

Now, I want to make Charlotte's roster and opponents reflect my memories. Little bit of work ahead. My hope is to evolve my player and make it to the NBA. I hope to tell you more of this project.
