It didn't seem like LFC deserved all three points yesterday. I'm not sure who had more possession, but Gomel definitely looked like they did more with it, especially in the first half. The backline looked in shambles. It didn't seem like Brad Jones and Carragher and Skrtel were communicating at at all. Passing was mediocre, movement off the ball was minimal, no one provided the square ball. A lot of players, especially our wide players, tried to dribble out of trouble. It did improve mildly in the second half, we had more shots, played better defense. But that's not to say we deserved a victory. The Stewart Downing goal was a product of a brilliant individual effort, as opposed to a team effort.

It was nice, though, giving Carragher the armband for his 700th appearance. A truly astounding fear.
