OFFSEASON MOVES HIGHLIGHT PISTONS REBUILD
It seems the Detroit Pistons are as committed as ever to attempt a legitimate playoff run. With the draft choices that General Manager Marvin Ong made, the franchise is primed for an exciting if not, interesting, season ahead.
Kevin Martin, a professional scorer and shot creator, comes into the fold for the boys in blue.
This aims to solidify the Shooting Guard position, which in recent years have lacked size and scoring.
Meanwhile, superstar Point Guard Jrue Holiday takes the helm as the team's floor general. This move seeks to fill the scoring potential and playmaking that the Pistons have been looking for in the Point position.
Filling the forward positions are sharpshooters Chandler Parsons and Ryan Anderson. Parson's knack for scoring and Andersons stretch 4 abilities are valuable if not integral parts to the Pistons' offense.
On the defensive side, the Pistons look to NBA Champion and defensive anchor, Kendrick Perkins. His veteran presence and insistence on defense seeks to shore up and defensive liabilities the Pistons might have.
Signings weren't the only story of the Pistons' offseason as the front office saw it fit to enlist the services of those in free agency.
The biggest catches the Pistons landed were Brigham Young stalwart, Jimmer Fredette and veteran All-Star Michael Redd.
Though he has yet to play a full NBA season, the front office saw potential in the former All-Star even after injury plagued seasons.
Fredette on the other hand, will have his chance to shoot his way to a decent NBA career as he comes off the bench behind Holiday.
Another surprise signee was Mike Dunleavy Jr. and Matt Bonner.
The Pistons will look for Bonner's championship pedigree, and Dunleavy's sweet stroke to lend some maturity and veteran knowledge to a young team.
A former Miami Heat Center, Dexter Pittman and Shot Eraser Bismack Biyombo, gets his chance to play along side superstars to prove his worth in the league.
With all these off season moves, the Pistons are sporting a solid roster which is sure to provide excitement and buzz in the Palace of Auburn Hills.
Detroit is definitely a team to watch out for.
